With a bit of minor modding, yeah, it works okay to a degree, but I think you are restricted with either DLC or installing to the drive or something.

Good price and the cheapest out there atm. Voted hot.

Have used this drive four times now in PS3s and id highly recommend ;-)

How does this compare to … How does this compare to this???http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?NOV-NBHS32Thanks

I'd stick with the Western Digital one from Ebuyer....as it could be any manufacturer that Novatech send you.

I have the WD one fitted in my PS3 for over 6 months now .....works a treat !!!!

They offered me the Fujitsu one, is that any good?

This one

TBH having used various manufacturers for a lot of years now i always go back to WD over any other company. To me they offer the most reliability and cost effective solution over all. Already discussed in another thread recently id avoid Novatech own brand. They are my local and i use them all the time on system builds coz their prices are good. I would however avoid their own brand stuff as it just doesnt seem as 'good quality'.

Having used the top brands like Seagate, Maxtor, Samsung and WD my home builds and my nippers PS3 all run on WD. Just my 2 cents worth :-)

PS the Novatech only comes with a 1 year warranty compared to the 3 of WD.

Thanks for the help. I have to say some people even on here dont rank WD and others, yourself included clearly, feel they are good. I suppose only time will tell if the Fujitsu drive i have will be anygood. I also bought a novatech graphics card a few months back that turned out to be an XFX 9600 so its a case of taking a chance as to what manufacturer they are supplying i believe.

Yep sometimes you do get a good brand when Novatech advertise it as 'their own'. I have got stuff before that is proper 'Novatech own brand' not another manufacturer and its been not all that good. So yes it depends. Sometimes you get a brand name and it turns out to be poop. Had this with the last GFX i got from them which was Sparkle and the last 2 true own brand wireless NICs i got from them - all turned out to be duffers and trying to configure the NICs on a Sky Sagem router was impossible !

As for the WD, Seagate, Maxtor, etc debate - i know a few of the sales, tech support and returns guys over at Novatech Pompey branch. Speaking to all of them they would recommend WD over all others ;-) Had this discussion with them many a time.

PS... have edited the typo above... WD come with a 3 year warranty not 2.

This spec will still fill quickly when storing a library of hd films. Has anyone come across a bargain 2.5" 500gb capacity?

That 120GB is overpriced for the very reason you bought it ;-)

How would this compare speed-wise with my 120GB 2.5 7200rpm drive?

what about fitting this one in

scan.co.uk/Pro…gle

will it work as a plug and play :?

How annoying. I ordered this monday night from ebuyer for £50. Grrr. Although to be fair i ordered it through winnings on coral, so it basically didnt cost me anything. Gambling, the root, cause and cure of all money problems!

Seriously though, good drive, excellent price, bargain.

I expect Ebuyer will have a very cheap 2.5" external drive enclosure that would take the order over £50 and qualify for free shipping, making a great, portable back-up disc.

seems like a good price, but i would want 7200rpm for a laptop use myself

PS3 users will want the 5400rpm though as 7200rpm kicks out too much heat for it. If it were for my laptop though then agreed id look 7200rpm ;-)

fair enough, not a console man myself so would not know but sounds about right

At the expense of battery life? Not for me thanks

price has gone back up
