I got one one the 4TB Ironwolfs delivered on Friday in a brown paper bag with no other packaging, absolutely mad. Didn't even open the anti static bag around the HDD just returned it that day.

I got mine in a plain brown box but well packaged, bit odd they're sending HDD's in a paper bag

Cold. Was £99 a few days ago. £120 is not a great price for this.

Where was it £99? Also do you have a time machine I could use?

Been hovering around this price for last few months goes up a few quid and goes back down. Never seen it for £99 though.

It was eBuyer. So on one hand £99.99, but on the other hand, it's ebuyer...

I just bought 2 of these from Amazon 2 days ago for £123, so this is about the price they hover at.

My drives arrived in individual boxes with two made to fit plastic braces, very well protected. So my only thought about other people's issues are that maybe they're coming from third party listings. I always make sure to select Amazon as the seller.

Bought two 1tb reds 18 months ago for my nas and they're on their way out already! More a gimmick.Barely went through 10TB. Gone for Toshiba now to see if they're any better.

When you say on their way out, what is actually happening? Not being cheeky, actually interested in the symptoms or issues they're running into?

Taking much longer to access the drive ( even at 75% capacity used, understood if it was nearly full. More worryingly though it's starting to make much more noises, no clicking just yet however just a matter of time. It was literally on 365/24hrs and reading/writing data for up to 8 hours a day .

I purchase a vast amount from amazon, but never ever EVER purchase a hard drive from them

I haven't bought a WD from Amazon, but the Seagate IronWolf I bought a few weeks ago, which arrived in a thin cardboard sleeve with no shock protection whatsoever, definitely came direct from Amazon and not a third party seller. I wasn't surprised to find it was faulty so back it went.

Reading some of the above posts it's very disappointing that Amazon apparently *still* don't care about how they ship at least some of their hard drives, in spite of it being a well-documented issue.

What do the health reports say?

Thanks

I ordered 2 last week and they have turned up today - in the same box - one in a smaller box wrapped in bubble wrap and the other just in the smaller box with a slither of bubble wrap on the inside!
