500GB in case anyone is wondering...

I got the 1tb version of this from laskys for 60, great drive, get about 135mb/s write speed.

Some competition to PC World/Currys deal

ive ordered the 500. was looking at the 1TB for £79 but decided against it.

Is usb 3 backward compatible and is it the same physical connector?

I know that it states USB 3 but if you look at the photos on the link isn't the connector shown to be a mini USB...? I associate that with a USB 2 connector as the USB 3 ones I have got are very narrow but quite wide port on the back of the enclosed HD.

This is what I mean...

as against the one advertised...

At Amazon they are selling the USB 3 version and it does look that it supports that rating...

the one noted in this thread seems to be the USB 2 one, unless the photos are mixed up.

The Amazon one is no longer showing as being available though...
