Cheapest 1TB drive so far. Nice one.

Nice! Whats the feedback like on this particular drive though? Noisy? Reliable?

Top find and good price. they keep going down. might wait a month and see if theyve gone down another £20 tho.

My bro has the 500gb drive and works perfectly. fairly quiet and still working after 6 months...

Top price, though I wonder how anyone can possibly fill that much space just for home use. ;-)

I've got the 500 gig version of this. *bear in mind* that this comes with it's own power chord + brick. Other than that these makes have been giving me a great performance.

I just picked up the 640GB version from scan.co.uk for £57 inc - very pleased with it! The power brick is small and the power plug fits in securely - unlike a lot of cheap usb caddies. Very quiet too. Would recommend any of the elements drives - great price for 1TB.

I plan to use one for backups. 200GB per backup for my system at the mo. That's the size using High compression too.

I have GB's of photo's alone that I'd hate to lose. Once I buy my HD video camera I'll probably need a couple of these :).

All those memories.

Was going to buy this - but the 500gb one seems to have very bad reviews of them dying after 3 to 4 months. I know this is a different model but more data!

HD video... yes... having moved to using HD over the last few months for my website (www.geekanoids.co.uk) I have found the gigabytes of data filling up very quickly. The minimum you should even consider is 1TB if you are into high def video.

I lvoe these elements drives, got 3 of the 500gb versions and never had any trouble. They also have on board power management so they spin down after a time of inactivity which is perfect if you like to leave it connected to a PC / NAS.

I want!!

Excellent Drive.

And as for anyone being able to fill them for home use. I have over 3tb full for movies both SD and HD. Much better than havin' DVDs lyin around.

I've had 2 WD drives, and both failed after roughly 12 months. I hope they've improved since (it was a couple of years ago), but the experience has put me off WD for life. Good price though, shame it's a WD (for me).

Does anybody know if this drive contains the 1TB Green Power? (WD10EACS)

Good find...heat added! But the reviews mentioned in the above links are disturbing!!

i have had 500gb model for 8months + no porblems what so ever

I would never buy Western Digital again. My 500GB EXT HDD packed in after a few months, and lots of people also have same problems.

Place the order yesterday and despatched today. I should receive it tomorrow.

Hmm tempting! I have a 360gb drive at the moment that I may replace for this one. Need to look into it further.
