Thanks SG1, good deal

Is this better or worse than the 500GB Seagate on play.com?

I had a western Digital internal drive once, failed at 12 months old, never bought one since.

I really want to pick up a drive like this, but can never seem to find out if it has an on/off switch on the back of the unit, or if it relies on turning off at the mains.

Can anyone confirm this?

Dollars to donuts, it will have a switch on the back, so don't worry... can't confirm this personally, but every external drive i have ever seen/used (many different makes/models) have had an on/off switch somewhere on the unit itself.

The Seagate FreeAgent 500GB didn't have an external switch

His views are more about the styling & lack of a on/off switch, he even complains about the Western Digital MyBooks as well. I have one of these (Seagate Freeagent) and it is whisper quite and had no problems to date (got it on the Play.com for £69.99 about 3 weeks ago).

Although I'm tempted to buy one of these My Elements drive I'm waiting for another Seagate Freeagent price drop It works like a dream on my Apple Airport Extreme N use as a AirDisk!
