...for the sake of a tenner I'd go with the Op, the buffallo certainly will use less energy as the WD should be around for a lot longer than it.

Maybe, but these WD drives are great. simple, reliable & really quiet. I have two and would recommend them to anyone.

i like Buffalo products though. Never had any problems with them. It's just another option

Not a bad price. I bought a WD Mirror Edition 1TB for £130 instead. Atleast it has RAID as is user serviceble.
