Wow, that's a really good deal, manage to grab one, thanks op!

Can you transfer over files by WiFi on this unit . Or is it direct plug in via USB ? I am not a techy!

Got one so thanks - hot

Damn, I spent too long considering it. OOS

OOS ffs

Stay away from RECERTIFIED

6 month warranty? That's not much when new has 3 years.

Stay away from RECERTIFIED

had 1 for a year no issues, and another that's 3 years old and again no issues

I'm aware these are posted regularly but they also go out of stock quickly so always good for a heads up. I've had a few recertified drives all going strong being used for backups and Xbox storage. I wouldn't put all my data on there without a backup but then I wouldn't do that with a non recertified one either.

I would advise you to just keep on checking the site regularly as they seem to go in and out of stock
I used the "notify me when available" and for the past 4 weeks they haven't told me anything i just kept checking the site
Hopefully the 4tb will come back in stock so others can get

6TB back in stock

13/11/2017 17.00hrs

Bought a 4Tb one last time...it never arrived, no correspondence either until I got a message at the weekend saying they were out of stock and they offered me a 40% off code for another time.... expires in 4 weeks so I ordered a 3Tb one, for 37 quid and it appears to have been despatched this time, and is now in this country, (comes from Netherlands) down for delivery tomorrow - we will see!

Still waiting for the money back on the first one though, not keen of companies that take the money without despatching the goods :-(

Got one 4tb mycloud and one 3tb external for good prices... both broke after little use. Won't recommend to anyone now.

Get a new 4TB My Passport from Currys for £99.99 on offer at the mo. Comes with 3 year warranty and a free family cinema ticket too.

Could I convert these to fat32 and still retain the full storage size? Asking cos normally when I buy these and format them I end up losing 0.8tb for some reason. Asking cos I use it for PS3 media storage

And if it fails after 27 weeks you'll be kicking yourself.

If they had any faith in the products they'd offer a lot longer than 6 months.

20% of the warranty should be 20% of the price.

No, its to do with FAT32 format limitations.

No
You'd buy it from Amazon and get it returned and receive a new one.

6TB are still pricey at £114.99, bought some in August 2017 when they were £99. Patience needed...

Had 9-10 good recertified drives the past couple of months.

Got a black new style my passport ultra 4tb and the bloody thing arrived rattling around in it's enclosure.

Wasn't best pleased considering the hassle waiting and checking for stock. The returns procedure isn't dynamic and wd/digital river support are cretins.

These things are like tyres, new or old, sometimes they just get a puncture. I've had two relatively new drives die recently, but my 6tb and 3tb re-certified drives keep on going, two years later. It's luck of the draw. You're mad to rely on a single drive for anything important anyway. I do understand the value aspect regards the warranty length though, that's fair. I'd still rather buy two re-certified drives over paying full price on a single with a longer warranty.

i thought you normally loose that amount anyway whetherbfat32 or ntfs
was told its down to
1024 kb = 1mb not 1000
1024mb =1 gb
1024 gb = 1tb
and so on
i think on 1 tb you get about 930gb
etc............
but you should be able to format it to fat32
i think i use fat32 formatter or EaseUS Partition Master Free
as some programs after formatting will only show 32gb or 36gb
although that was a long time ago
also fat 32 wont allow you to save files ove 4gb
ive used the above mentioned programs to get a failed usb stick working again
thats lost its file structure
