Recertified not refurbished, and 6 months warranty from company based outside UK and so exempt from UK consumer legislation.
What’s the difference between recertified and refurbished in this context?

It’s a great price when they in stock. Well done.
Was much cheaper when posted last time, pretty sure you could get the 3tb one for around this price last time.

Here’s the FAQ I wrote which should help you.

hotukdeals.com/dis…847

I have had many drives fail over the years and WD have proved the most reliable. But any HDD can fail at any given moment so putting valuable data on two or more recertified drives is MUCH safer than on one new drive, however much you paid for it and however long the warranty is.

When it came to recertified drives which were within the warranty period, the online replacement procedure is identical to a non-recertified one: very quick and smooth.

Most (including me) learn the hard way that backing up valuable data is essential, so if you’ve never lost data then congratulations, but it can happen so prepare for the worst. A replacement drive with a 1,000 year guarantee won’t get 10years of family photos back.

They come from Holland, so EU laws prevail and if you pay by Paypal then you will have a decent amount of cover.

Shipping origin is irrelevant. Supplier is based in Ireland. PayPal's arbitary cover is not UK-enforceable, but either should be OK if customer is comfortable attempting to enforce any Euro legislation, somehow.

If it ships within the EU you are covered and Paypal support extends globally.

I have had enforced refunds from Paypal for goods shipped from China.

Your words are correct, but you appear to have overlooked the enforcement issue. How does the customer enforce cover if PayPal decides its cover is not applicable? For purchases from a UK-based company, it is simple, accessible and cheap to enforce UK consumer legislation. Not so with non-UK supplier and / or PayPal if PayPal decides against claim. Dull debate if customer has confidence in supplier and PayPal.
what is the difrences between these two MY CLOUD HOME vs MY CLOUD ?
I got a 2tb last week for £45 inc postage, missed UPS delivery on Friday, will hopefully be delieverd on Monday.
Had one of these 2 years now and it's great for home networks but useless for off site access as their software is very unreliable.

About 2% of the drive has failed but I just keep a folder containing the duff sector files
2TB Out of Stock, now
