I just stumbled upon this while looking for an upgrade to my storage pool. Not the best price it's ever been according to CCC (£112.56), however still a very good price for what is a brilliant drive. I have some 3TB Reds in my server which are on 24/7 and have been for a few years, they're fast drives and appear to be very reliable.

Cheapest I can find anywhere.

WD cloud storage has been hacked. As far as I remember they themselves …WD cloud storage has been hacked. As far as I remember they themselves have designed this with backdoor entry that was exploited by hackers. Not recommended (used to be my favorite brand)

What on earth does that have to do with a 3.5" NAS drive?...

Any idea on RPM? Doesn't say on the page.

EDIT: Looks to be 5400 for the normal and 7200 for the pro version according to one of the answered questions.

Yes that is correct. My 3TB drives are the same 5400rpm, and have no issues with file transfer speeds or 4k video streaming.

I've 1tb spare on my 3tb qnap nas so always on the lookout.
Do you replace one at a time on raid1 for it to copy over, just wondering

Yes, it should then prompt you to rebuild the array

As long as it's set up as raid 1, if its raid 0 that'll destroy the array. But with 3tb on the NAS I'd go with mirroring over striping.
Sorry, cold from me. Average price for a well known good drive but Amazon are not know for packing their hard drives well. Been £117 on ebuyer since I have been watching for the last couple of weeks.

As much as flowers grow quicker if exposed to music.......
I just ordered the Seagate wolf drives.

I will be having redundancy so worse case I get a drive failure and can call the warranty. Hopefully they're just as reliable.
