This is £143 on scan and £140 on today only, this is just £124.70 delivered using super savery delivery on ebuyer, BARGAIN!

WD Caviar SE16 SATA drives scored a 5.9 - the highest possible score on the Windows Vista Experience Index. These drives combine 16 MB cache and a 300 MB/s transfer rate for lightning-fast performance with advanced acoustics and power-reducing technologies to deliver lightning-fast performance and cool, quiet operation. WD's IntelliSeek calculates the optimum seek speeds to lower power consumption, noise and vibration and Ramp Load parks the recording head off the drive surface during spin up, spin down and when the drive is off to ensure the head never touches the disk surface for long term reliablity. Designed for high-performance computers, multimedia or gaming systems.

Cheaper than buying the bare drive at most places. :-D

The Raptor is faster :whistling:

Great price, but can't help thinking that would get you 2 x 500GB drives for nearly the same money;

ebuyer.com/UK/…454

In tomshwardware benchmarks this is very nearly performing to the same level and you get 1TB for £134.
Anyway, that's just an option, this is a HOT deal.

you can obviously get 2*500gb for the same price, BUT the drives are alot slower, also 2 drives = more electricity, more heat, more noise, more cable mess.

strocky, ignore those specs read the review with actual test scenarios, not just theoretical specs!

its practically the same speed as the 74gb and 150gb raptors and costs about the same as the 150gb raptor and yet holds 750gb:)

you can use it like a raptor, create a partition of 74gb to install windows on and use the rest as storage, this way the c:\ will be the closest to the centre of the disk and will be similar speeds to the raptor and use the rest of it for storage.

just bought 1 today, i will now have:

750gb wd
500gb hitachi
74gb raptor 16mb

yep tempted to purchase one, only thing that's putting me off is that I've already got

2x37Gb Raptors Raided
2x250Gb Maxtor Raided

Would need to bin 2 HDD's to get the benefit of your deal PLUS only gain 250Gb extra storage

yeah, im selling a 250gb + 500gb and use this 750gb instead, much quicker than those and quieter, cooler, less electricity and cable mess due to 1 drive instead of 2.
