You cant argue with £13. Its raining games deals at the moment

BRILLIANT! CHEERS OP! I know it's had mixed reviews but I loved the demo

good price that. It's not long been out.

heard it's not that good a game, so I'll wait for £9.99 before thinking … heard it's not that good a game, so I'll wait for £9.99 before thinking of buying it

Try reading some of the many other deal listings for this title (probably now expired, but I believe you posted a comment in many of them) & you'll find mixed reactions.

Myself & my three kids like playing the PS3 version. I have recommended the game to two other gamers (Xbox 360 owners) & they too have bought it & thanked me for the recommendation.

Good deal in any respect. Heat added.

BFN,

It's an OK game £9.99 is my target though. I hated the camera on 360 version and doubt the ps3 version in that respect is any different to the 360 version. Wet on 360 is currently £24.99 at Hmv.

There's a demo for both systems. It really put me off, it's like Tony Hawk but it's meant to be an action game! Very frustrating.

I would say "Wet" has been influenced by "Tomb Raider", "Prince of Persia", "Mirror's Edge", & "John Woo presents Stranglehold", and possibly even 1970s B-Movies.

What specifically is similar between a Tony Hawk series title & "Wet"?

Thanks for your clarification.

BFN,

have already bought mini ninjas and dragon age origins this week looks like i'll be getting this too!!!! thanks op!

might be of use to someone.....cex will buy this title for £15 cash or £18 exchange so a few quid up either way!!!

The fact that you constantly have to slide everywhere is like manualling in Tony Hawk, and then in Wet you have to keep 'tricking' along walls and across poles through bonus multipliers on preset routes and paths... like in Tony Hawk.

You don't have to slide everywhere to play the game (either on a skateboard or without one) you can use a few forms of acrobatics or just "run & gun" (with various weapons).

The Birdman's series of console titles (that I would not classify as being within the "action" genre) is just over 10 years old. Yes, "Pro Skater" did introduce similar tactics to the series, but "Combo multipliers" (filling an on-screen gauge meter, or scoring system) & "power-up" techniques you find in many games as far back as arcade machines from the 1980s & 1990s, as well as home video game systems from the same period (and beyond).

But if you wish to think "Wet" should be dismissed as an "action" game because it is similar to the Tony Hawk franchise for that reason then I think you are not appreciating the game for what it is but are finding fault because some extreme sports titles frustrate you.

It's OK to dislike "Wet" in any respect... I was just curious as to why you did.

Thanks.

Heard mixed reviews on this game but for £13 its worth a punt and can always take it to CEX and get a bit more than I paid for it so not going to lose out

Ages? It's only been out about a month...

... I won't be buying though anyway, the demo was awful. Only demo I've not even bothered to get right the way through.

It was released on 18 September 2009... just over two months ago.

I got to the end of the Demo & started it over again as I wished that the game-play hadn't ended

Hot, even if the deal's on the wrong console. ;D

You do have to slide around constantly in slow motion and keep your combo up or else you can't get the other gun out which is the whole key to doing well and what you're graded on at the end of the level

Thanks ordered :-) Heat Added

Did you play past the first location in the Demo?

You do not have to constantlyslide to keep your "combo" score high. You can control Rubi to perform any number of acrobatic moves &/or methods of killing an assailant to reach the same effect. Sliding is useful for upper-cuts with your sword, but you can equally reach the same end result with one of the other stylish takedowns & kills.

The start of the Playable Demo introduces a few moves (sliding being just one) such as wall running, somersaulting, jumping, or firing in 360 degrees when you enter slow motion (like "bullet time" in "Max Payne" & "The Matrix", or "Tequila Time" in "John Woo presents Strangehold").

Later in the game you can wield dual pistols, shotguns, a samurai sword, sub-machine guns, &/or a crossbow.

Typical hmv
order showing as on special delivery from supplier even though it was in stock when ordered.
Here's hoping it arrives before Xmas as hmv can be painfully slow when they don't have stock
