No actual prices lol

It'll vary pub to pub as Wetherspoons have a number of different pricing bands based on the location of their pubs. Can even vary within the same city.
Different drinks different needs
Who cares! They are good value to start with, so any reduction is worth celebrating! Cheers!

Different pubs have different prices so they can’t do a blanket price for all. I’m assuming it’s more like 50p off each pint

Went the one in Torquay, Magners down to £1.89 a pint, dark fruit Strongbow £2.49, both in think 10p cheaper than the prices they have been

Great way to keep people drinking after Christmas. Well done Spoons pushing boundaries again.
Probably a free whiskey with a breakfast before 8am
I assume they have shares in uber which is why they are doing it

That's Std at most of them - the whiskey masks the rubber eggs and sheep-poo beans

They can reduce soft drink prices.
A pound for a cup of coffee is always helpful.
Counter acts the two large whiskey at 7am. To take the edge of work.

They can reduce Alcohol prices in Pubs all they want. The restriction is on Carry Out.

"The deal will be taking place across the UK, but will start a day later, on January 3, for those in Scotland."

It's not a promotion, ie not a buy 1 get 1 free
It's a change of price.

Thought wether spoons carry out is a service for the customers. Two bar men carry you from the bar to your waiting taxi.

You can be very successful and an unpleasant person. It actively helps to be one it seems!
Just water down the beers a little more and drop a couple of percent off the price. I'm pretty sure this model was invented by spoons. Every single one I've ever been in (I try to avoid where possible) has strange tasting beer - don't think the taps / lines have ever been cleaned so this could have something todo with it.

Love the expectations of some. It's a low cost pub chain, nothing more. Yes not everything is a taste revelation, but likewise you could be elsewhere, pay more and it be utter pants.
Also note how chain locations vary by premises as to how good drinks and food are, my local Marston's pub is awful. An extra mile and it's a whole different kettle of fish.
Each to their own I guess.

Also, love how almost any deal now comes with a token Brexit/Political post

Why do you struggle to avoid altogether if it serves STRANGE beer?

So how do you water down beer? It's not possible but then neither is it possible to never clean the pipes. I'd stick to water if I were you.

It won't be taking place in Northern Ireland. Granny Annie's in Derry bought all their pubs in NI. So no more spoons here.

They serve double Caourunn and tonic for £3.70, it works for me. The cheap beers I've never heard of are worth a stab for the novelty factor

The exact opposite of my experience. I loathe the decor, I shudder at the clientele (as, I'm sure they shudder at me!) but I find the beers are kept really well (and they'll always pour another if yours is shoddy).

Have to agree with the idea that Wetherspoon's is contributing to the downfall of many local pubs however it is also the mega supermarket chains that are helping cause this damage.

All that said, the consumer is king. People want value for money and a great deal, isn't that why we're all here? That with the fact that Wetherspoon's bars usually know how to look after their beer, serve a great pint and often have a great selection compared to some of these so called pubs with their inflated prices and very poor beer. I've had some very bad pints in 'trendy' pubs that cost me in excess of £4. Wetherspoon's are doing it right and that's what people want so they are sadly killing off all the competition and the locals are dying (the pubs that is ).
Table service, great prices and a fantastic selection of beer. If it kills local pubs off it's because they're not doing boozing right.

Certainly run by a right-wing Brexit lunatic, I'll give you that. But yet they still serve the very best ale.

The staff are usually grand in every spoons I've been in, some spoons are a bit more rough than others but you get a fair feeling of that - like any pub.

I think what you will find is "proper pubs" flogging John smiths and Fosters garbage for £4 + , with little selection of quality ales led to the demise.
While spoons may leave a bit to be desired with the clientele (some not all)the selection of ales, and spirits is far better at a far better price. Go into your local "proper pub" and ask for a can of six point Bengali for £1.99 Or a double stoli vodka and mixer for £3.99. My local proper pub had Thornbridge Jaipur at £4.30 for two thirds of a pint and the local spoons had it for £2.25 a pint .
Morrisions selling 20 cans branded lager for a tenner has ruined the pub trade, its cheaper than was 15 year ago!!

BS. I have been in many a traditional pub before and countless times the beer has tasted vile (either like vinegar or pipe cleaner). I never returned. That's the same story for a lot of pub goer's as well.

The problem is too many pubs these days are owned by pubco's who lease their pubs to landlords/lady's who just don't have a clue how to store beer properly.

As a camra member I have always been someone who has wanted to support independent, traditional pubs, even if it cost more. I don't visit any of them locally now though because im sick of going there and having to argue with the bar staff that their beer is off as they refuse to accept they haven't flushed the lines or stored it correctly.

Spoons on the other hand serve beer that 99.9% is spot on. You get the occasional dodgy pint but it's rare.

A lot of traditional pubs have committed suicide with the way they are run and that isn't down to pub chains opening.

Hahahaha. Really? It’s actually quite simple but rest assured JDW don’t adulterate the keg contents.
