Are this any good?

well i normally only burn at 8 speed but i tried 16 and they work ok on my burner. Not had any fails.

My sister used to work for WHSmith's and bought a few packs of these using her staff discount. There were so many coasters, she ended up coming to me to find out what brand I use instead.

Hot price. Cold product. I'm not sure what dye they're using, but it's worthless IMO. Never had a problem with Sony, Verbatim, Datawrite, BenQ & Datasafe.

had problems with DVD+R not working on all DVD players before. +R always cheaper than -R but still seems cheap.

Never, ever find these 'deals' in my local WHS, though I'm sure they happen.

Other than these clearances, they're still selling everything like there is no competitor in the same street (never mind online).

The magazine, stationery and confectionary aisles seem to now fill the shop...

The only shop I know that actually turn the lights out(!) and start locking the doors while customers are still shopping to get them out near closing time.

In general, DVD+R is more supported by video playing devices and -R more used for computer data storage.

Sounds like it's time they went the way of woolworths. Pretty pointless shop wh smiths imo.

Make sure you 'verify' when you burn using unbranded media. And don't rely on them from long term backup (i.e. more than 5 years).

This is a good deal though. Good luck, all.
