Has great reviews. The cheapest I've found on the net. Is £279.99 most places including Richer Sounds. Free next day delivery. Would recommend buying from this place. I ordered a pair and was able to select delivery date and notified the time of delivery by hourly slot. Classed as a bookshelf speaker but too big and heavy for a shelf in my view.

In this review they advise removing the grilles as they can muffle the sound youtube.com/wat…Uy0

The Wharfedale Diamond 122 offers a larger bass/mid driver than its smaller brother the Diamond 121 - resulting in an increased power rating and slightly increased sensitivity.

Lovely speakers. Hot.

Before removing grills to get better sounds for non audiophiles, better to try de-waxing one's ears first.

Good speakers. Good price. Heat.

Or, before making sweeping comments maybe try cleaning your brain.

Removing the speaker grilles will obviously have an effect on the sound - sometimes it will make it better, sometimes it will make it worse, but the only way to find out is... you guessed it.

lol.hot for the deal I'm thinking to get those speaker and a denon dm39.I just want a decent system without breaking my bank account.Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Will these be better then my 500w alba speakers?

Sorry for what is probably a stupid question but I know next to nothing about speakers etc. Would these be suitable to connect direct to a record turntable or would I need anything else? Thanks in advance.

You'd need something to drive these speakers, they're not powered. So you'd either need an amp that also has a built in phono stage or an amp + external phono stage.

Think what you like, I'm not going to google it for you.

As a headstart: look up NHT speakers. They're specifically designed to be better with the grilles ON.

This place is a blessing and a curse. Ordered to replace my Diamond 9.1's.

Same price at Superfi & Richersounds.

Got a link? They're discontinued so out of stock at Superfi and on Richer Sounds listed at their RRP (279.95) from what I can see.

Good speakers

Would these work with the Denon DM39?

I was thinking Wharfdale Diamond 9.1s but these I assume are way better?

So many speakers to choose from, i bought a sound bar which matches my tv, it sounds great but its really loud (90w speakers), i recently got the Bose Soundlink Mini, it sounds great but not for small rooms as it has so much bass, what do you guys think is the best portable speakers?

I have these, really good speaker with my Marantz MCR603. Only negative is that the build quality could be better but they are HOT at this price.

Downward firing bass very good if you are placing these close to a wall, avoiding boomy problems from common with rear ported speakers.

I have been thinking about getting the Denon DM39 as well. I don't know much about audio technology and have asked on audio visual related website forums for advice. As far as I know, as these speakers have Recommended Amp Power: 25-120W, the Denon's 30W would be adequate but the sound make become distorted at higher volumes. If I'm wrong someone will no doubt correct me.

DX-1's bundled with an amp are a decent 5.1 budget alternative. These are hot all the same!

How much better would these be than some classic wharfedale laser 80s?

It might make them sound harsh if you remove the grill. It depends how the speakers have been tuned.

I don't mind spend little bit more for those speakers.but I have to make sure to get a mini hi Fi that works well.
If anybody can suggest a decent stereo for those speaker.I got a good surround system in the sitting room, kef speakers I paid them a fortune but worth it.I only use my surround system for movies.Thats why I'm looking into a small stereo system.I was thinking to get those expensive system, but I meanly got mp3s so the sound is good enough.
Thanks again to post this deal.

Doesn't work that way. You need an amplifier to power these.

I have a pair of whafedale diamond 10.1 in a used perfect condition for sale if anyone's interested?

To all those thing of getting a Denon M39. While you were thinking about it, richer sounds and amazon had on offer at £150 just over a week ago. Yesterday it was on at amazon for £159.

No idea how to add links (via phone) but people contributed that for the M39, provided the speakers had an impedence of at least 6 ohms, they would work. M39 is a nice system, but apparently the M40 is on the horizon and will offer network conectability.

This product has been discontinued and is no longer available to buy.

Most HiFi seems to have a mark up of 100% so I'd expect others to offer significant reductions in time.

okay thanks.

Did anyone who ordered get theirs dispatched yesterday?

Edit: They are out of stock of Walnut so do not order them. Shame, but I've gone with the Rosewood which will hopefully look okay.
