The Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 Bookshelf Speakers are clear and precise with unmatched sound reproduction at their level. They boast curved, braced cabinets that not only allude to the premium aesthetic qualities of higher-priced speakers but also help to reduce unwanted cabinet vibrations and dissipate derogatory standing waves that can negatively affect your sound.

The five-inch Kevlar mid/bass driver and one-inch textile tweeter work effortlessly together, offering sparkling highs and full, controlled lows, revealing details in your favourite tracks that may have previously gone unheard. The gold-plated bi-wireable binding posts, a trait usually only found at higher price ranges, ensure complete versatility in your set-up and will benefit those who aim to achieve a precise and clean sound, where high and low frequencies blend harmoniously without a fight for air space.

£119.99 on AV Online's Amazon store, but worth a look at reviews: amazon.co.uk/Wha…QY2

Some feedback from AV customers:4066839_1.jpgA variety of opinions, from Audioreview: audioreview.com/pro…tml

A lot of reviews are from years ago, here's a more up-to-date one (a month ago, from UTILITARIAN TV - turns out he's reviewing his brother's - who's had them for about fifteen years!):
(One review on Amazon says the newer Diamond 9.1 speakers are Chinese-made - there may be a bit of bias in this review).

There's "Nearly New" options of these, though I'd rather go for new! Carbon Fibre is the biggest saving in this grade, going by AV's "new" prices.

    Black (10 in stock) - £89 av.com/Spe…FUX
    Carbon Fibre (8 in stock) - £89.99 av.com/Spe…GFH
    Walnut (20+ in stock) - £94.99 av.com/Spe…FT6
    White (4 in stock) - £99 av.com/Spe…GYT

I'm pretty sure everyone has owned a pair of wharfedale diamonds at some point in their life.

Must be great speakers as they've been around nearly 20 years. Just treated to myself to a pair of concept 40's so no use to me. HOT

Fantastic speakers, had an earlier version of these almost 40 years ago

Anyone got any thoughts on how these compare to the monitor audio bronze 50 gen 6?

I had these and went to MA Bronze 2 and the MA blew these away. These are ok speakers, better than a soundbar, but not serious I'd say.

I didn't rate these why I owned them.

Is this good value at this price point or would I be better with something else? As I'm looking to upgrade to an atmos system

My understanding is good speakers, shoddy sub

Superb Speakers, upgraded a few years ago but if anyone is in doubt just buy them, gave me years of happy listening

I used to have Wharfedale Diamond floorstanders (bought from a catalogue shop in the 1990s), wish I'd kept them! Had them hooked up to a (looking back), not great Aiwa midi hi-fi that definitely wouldn't have got the best out of them.

Remember wheeling them into the car on a trolley....
