I've always wondered why these come with remote controls, I mean how far away are you going to be when using one!

Does this play any formats such as mp4, avi, pls?

Does anybody still buy this kind of outdated technology even it it is only 20 quid??

Has it got an out socket to enable it to be connected to a TV if one is available.

Holy hell, where did they find stock of these? I bought one from Argos in 2006! How they got their hands on some 9 year old stock is beyond me!

Ordered 2, if they turn out to be a bit poo cex give 21/30 so worth a look

Thanks. Great bargain :-)

Outdated in the same way as vhs? I like dvds and find absolutely nothing wrong with the picture or sound. Sure bluray is nice and all that, but my DVD player does a grand job of upscaling.

I like the fact you can pick up films for next to nothing on DVD and until bluray discs are available at these kind of prices I will keep with my dvds ta very much!

Btw I do own a bluray player before you call me a caveman!

hot! got 1, although i did really need it

Superhot........ordered it for my friend's son's birthday.

DVD - LOL! Do they also have betamax players in stock?

Old outdated junk. waste of 20 quid.

Happy to buy outdated junk to play my 'outdated junk' DVDs on lol :-)

DVDs? Welcome to the last century!

I would have thought that most people have access to a laptop or a smart tv or a ps3/xbox where you can access cheap streaming services these days, or else just use a laptop to play movies on the move, you can even stream your films to your smartphone these days, I think what i find interesting is that people are willing to spend money on devices that can only do one thing. Why not buy one device that can multitask and do many many things at once laptop, smartphone, smart tv, games console etc. This technology just looks so outdated to me.

Buy one of these DVD players take it in to CEX who currently give £30 in vouchers for this player and buy loads of blurays with it.

It's great if you want a component-grab out of it for project work. To buy a 7" LCD screen, it is way more expensive than this. You can get the screen, the crappy dvd drive, the battery and charging circuits and a bunch of buttons and ports. You could break it into parts and sell it on ebay for more than you paid! Good stuff, and hot btw.

You could probably hollow out most of it and stick in a raspberry pi to make it a little mini terminal.

The likes of a galaxy ace smartphone is about £80 new, it can call, text, you can check social media, stream audio and radio services, it can take pictures, you can access your files through cloud services, can take video, it can access wifi and data over the cell network, you can use it to navigate using google maps... all for only 60 quid on top of the price of this

So for 4 times as much money you can have something with ongoing monthly charges, a smaller screen and the liklihood of failed internet connections. If you wanted a phone then the might be good but I think most people looking at this thread by definition either:
a. want a portable DVD player or
b. want to troll

so if you're not a or b and genuinely want to tell people about a good phone deal then you're better starting a new thread
