It won't make any difference what the lead quality is like for a digital signal over a 1metre distance, on that basis the lead would only be worth £1 to me
Regardless, build quality will be much better than probably all of the sub £5 cables anyway, and for a pound you won't find cheaper, hot!

Yes it will, I have had a few cheap leads and becasue of the cheap quality they have failed over time. I agree though when they work a digtial signal is a digital signal. The QED lead's build quality is good and is defitnely worth more than £1.

Good deal if you remeber to cancel...have some heat
Can you cancel it straight away with no obligations? or does it have a minimum term to finish? heat added for the price
A good deal in terms of the quality of the specific lead, as long as you remember to cancel your subscription. But to be honest, I've got three HDMI devices all connected with leads from Poundland, and they've all been fine for the last couple of years. I don't really see them 'failing' for any reason.
What Hi-Fi = Worthless
QED Cable = 50p
Lousy, lousy deal

I have done deals like this before and just cancelled the direct debit after the initial £1 has gone out with no problems whatsoever

Precisley....no picture on screen. When I first got them they worked, I was moving them from one device to another quite often and because they were cheap cables they just failed, if I wiggled them about I could get a picture but then it would just go off again after a while.

I don't believe in spending lots on HDMI cables, but I recently bought a 5 meter QED precision cable for £19.99 and becasue it was being installed behind walls then I wouldn't have trusted a £2.99 cheap 5 meter cable.

Cheers OP..i might do it with my topup credit card.just in case..cheers!
I don't understand why this is getting colder guys.... You are only paying £1 and getting 3 issues of What Hi Fi and a quality cable ( even if some of you do only value it at a £1)
lol@HDMI lead worth around £20
My digital 1 and 0s require the highest quality cables known to man! Otherwise some other numbers might ruin the picture.
quidco offering £1 CB if you don't continue to subscribe and £4 if you do.

i think i've read that right!

Well it may sound steep obviously compared to your £1 leads but even if you don't trust What Hi Fi reviews then Reevo also rate it

You mean like these gems:

"Improved quality of picture and sound 100%"
"Lovely picture quality a marked difference from my old cables"
"I found this cable show improvement in the depth and clarity of the images on my system."
"Quality cable for a reasonable price which greatly improves the sound quality of your system."

I can't find words to adequately describe the stoopidity.

By merely mentioning an HDMI cable you have cast your deal into hell.

Change the title to "What Hi Fi 3 issues for £1 and free gift @ iSubscribe.co.uk" and you should notice more heat coming your way.

I'm not so sure. What Hi-Fi is a fairly risible publication. I wouldn't pay £1 for three issues.
3 Mags and a lead for a quid! What is wrong with people?
This deal is flaming hot. You get get a HDMI Cable and 3 magazines for £1 and Quidco pay you £1 for a £1 magazine subscription.... SO ITS FREE! HOT

True it is hot.

However

a) We have established that What Hi-Fi is a poor publication
b) We have established that these cables are likely to provide the same picture and sound quality as a Poundland cable.

On this basis we can Either;

1) Go through Quidco
2) Fill out a form, and set up a direct debit, enter debit card details for the subscription
3) Ring up/email to cancel
4) Cancel the direct debit with the bank
5) Hope that Quidco tracks
6) Throw away the magazines
7) Get the cable

OR

1) Goto Poundland!!!

The old adage 'time is money' comes to mind...

On another note, thanks for posting OP.

Who is this 'we' you refer to? I do not agree with your statement and I am a member of HUKDs.
Chill guys, put the pitchforks away. I was only kidding :P

By the way, 'we' referred to the previous posters in the thread :P
I can't believe we're STILL having the old 0's and 1's and Poundland VS Monster debates over a FREE hdmi lead.
There is no way that a £1 cable can out perform a £79 cable..... the £1 cable can only feed 1s and 0s and my expensive cable can also send 2s 3s 4s and 5s.

The "it's all 1's and 0's so you can use any cable you like" theory of digital transmission carries little weight when then data stream is clocked at 340MHz! X)
Always nice to catch up with What HiFi to see which company they're biased towards these days - will it be Onkyo, Sony or Denon. Rarely, if ever, Yamaha who still make the best darned AV receivers this side of Mars.

For £1 can't go wrong and you can never have too many HDMI cables, irrespective of who makes them.

And yes, just cancel the DD after you get the 3rd mag - funnily enough, never had anyone from Haymarket coming round to my house to complain.... these are standard loss leader promotions which most publishing companies run (eg PC Pro 3 for a £1 etc...)
yea these deals are great, do them all the time every year with each different magazine
These deals always end in tears. You have been warned.

Guys if you see the WhatHiFi logo on products when you go into store, be carefull not to be pulled into buying them just because the sticker is there. A cheap £1 Hdmi cable will do the same as a £20 cable if you look around. A belkin cable my parents bought with their tv, which cost £60, shows exactly the same picture as one i found in Poundland. The 5 star Whathifi sticker f ooled them, as did the in shop assistant who pointed out the sticker too.. I've lose faith in "WhatHiFi's" reviews. I'm seeing their stickers on most things these days and realised its mostly just a lie to get people to buy stuff.

Indeed - why did I bother to read such a crap magazine!

Stick it in the recycling and keep the cable for free - job's a good'un!

I too also have failing/failed cables. One works fine but makes dynamic noise, the other incorrectly displays colours, these were cheap cables off ebay
How easy or hard is it to cancel after the initial £1 has been debited?
Mascherano

How can cancelling a direct debit end in tears ? As long as you make sure you cancel it at the right time you cannot lose.
**** it, here OP, have some heat!

I don't care what the cable preforms like. If I buy a £1 cable worth £1, I will expect it to have some problems. If I buy a £1 cable worth £20, I would expect a little better. Either way, a measely pound would hardly matter even if the cable came and turned out to be crap. I'd rather punt a pound on a cable that's meant to be good, than a pound on a cable that is made to sell for £1.

Evidently, I need another HDMI cable so I can feed my PS3 through the surround sound system, and I didn't want a cheapo one and I didn't want to pay top whack, so this is perfect, a mid-range cable for a very small price. Thanks OP. Might order it in my fiancée's name too, get two
Yup. Some of you (men?) clealry have Too Much Spare Time. Isit?
Weren't these cables going for £1 in Tesco back in the £15 camera days? The editor of What HiFi must have bought them all to sell on eBay. FAIL
