Just checked, and it seems Asda's newspaper advert smear campaign on Argos's high price for this item has caused them to Argos to lower the price to £180 too.

£155.80 is cheap.

Is 1200 sufficient or should I go for a 1600RPM?

this has always been cheap at Curry's, I went to look at it last November. The girl in the shop told us not to buy it!!!!

Note it is only a 5kg load so not good for loads of washing however saying that, I have vertually the same machine (although a lot older) which I have had from new almost ten years ago! Its not perfect but I still get a wash out of it! So yes I guess I would recommend it if you are on a tight budget.

Please note I am not recommending it as a great machine, just as a good cheapie for those on a tight budget.. It doesnt bring clothes out perfect and on occasions i have to wash twice and i usually have to spin things twice too but like i say good cheap deal for those on a budget.

1200 RPM does not produce as good a spin dry.
Not bad if you are on a tight budget though.

1200 is ample. My present machine is only 900 rpm and even its okay. 1600 might get the clothes a little dryer but it also makes them much more creased. I think 1200 is about perfect, it really does spin anything well. If 1600 was so great, it would be the norm, but its not.

Banned

my machine is 1600, but never use it at that spin, it makes the clothes to creased and also the thing nearly takes off - lol I use mine on normal wash at 1300

Bought a fridge freezer from Currys and quidco payment was refused so don't expect to get quidco.

Have you found out why you were refused Quidco, did you submit an enquiry/dispute?

I like Whirlpool kit - even back in the days it was Philips.
Heat added for such a good price and decent brand (having said that I hope Whirlpool are not manufacturing in China these days).

LOL - I'd be more worried if it was manufactured in the UK to be honest!

I think the deal must have expired

YAY just got a phone call, mine is being delivered on Tuesday. For a few pounds extra theyre disconnecting and taking away my old machine, and connecting up the new one! Much better than some places which demand you disconnect the old one yourself. Really handy for me as Im in a third floor flat.

Yay! Nice friendly delivery guys, disconnected my old one with not a gripe, took it away, connected my new one, demonstrated it working, and Ive done a load of washing. Delighted!
