If you're serious about your whisky, be cautious about using decanters. I don't want to take away from the OP's bargain here but warn whisky fans about the fact that decanters can improperly seal a bittle of whisky, so if you are going to shove a botttle of whisky into a nine pound decanter, make sure it's a relatively cheap bottle like a Johnnnie Walker Red or Black or a Ballantines, or Mackay & White or Famous Grouse, or Auchentoshan American Oak or Ardmore or Highland Park 12 or Old Pulteney 12 or Aberlour 10/12, etc. Don't shove a £50+ whisky into a decanter. Savour it in the original botttle!

Only way someone if going to put an expensive whiskey in there is if they buy it off HUKD for 70% off

Surely it's easier to drink straight from the bottle.

Do folks still use decanters?

As a whisky enthusiast, I've had several gifted to me over the last few years. Sadly I've disposed of them all.

This is total waste of money !! I bought this last time, I would say this is a cheep plastic style glass and poor quality. Please don’t waste any money on this !!!!!

I never used, if anyone pay postage I can send it for free so that I can free up some space.

I like to put a nice bittle of whiskey in the mug with the drug, to wash down the sissage, followed by a nice slice of the gateaux from the chateau.
I still use my nice decanter for my decent whisky, Currently contains the dregs of a 30yr glenfarclas since xmas and I don't think it has affected the taste at all.

I have an awesome decanter but always on the look out for me. Generally the older whiskeys the cork can fail or brake when opening so the need for a decanter is always something worth having. I have a lot of rare stuff and would shit a brick if I had the cork break when opening it and not have something to put it in straight away.
I would say though that this is a cheap one so how good it is I don't know
What was it Gerald Ratner said about the decanter set his business sold ?
