Brilliant find - I am sure that this one won't leak like the £40 Russell Hobbs kettle that I bought! :-) Heat added

It sure wont, it is better than the expensive ones I've bought

I bought two of these when they were £5.00, after my upteenth expensive ones bit the dust. Being using the Asda one for over a year. It is quiet and quick. You can't go wrong for £3.00.
perfect for student life, or for my mate who has a new flat with naff all in it! lol.
will never ever buy anything smart price again, bought a wok last week used it last night the piece of **** folded in half on the cooker as my food cooked.

Yes I want pictures too!

This is a very good price for a cheapo kettle.

Just to add I also had a russell hobs kettle that cost £40+ that fell apart. The handle fell off and the lid knackered and It also leaked if I remember rightly. It was a stainless steel cordless one with a glass stand, it looked nice when I bought it. But I wont buy anything by russel hobbs ever again because of this.

Yeah I want to see picture of the folded wok too.

Yes it was £3.00

I bo ught one of these a few months ago. The filter quickly fell off and I find the cord a little bit short to be honest but for £3 I guess you can't really complain.

I too have the same wok. It's very flimsy, Several times it has come close to breaking and bending in half due to the weight of what's in it.
Would avoid at any price - Had numerous Smart Price producs (and their Onn ones too) all have lasted less than 6 months... sorry but I'm not voting on this one x
I've done quite a bit of personal kettle research (ahem - saddo I know) cos ours is falling to pieces after a grand age of 11, but I didn't look at the white plastic styile, just the dearer branded type that look a bit nicer.

Seems to me that most dear kettles suck a biggy. They all have defects (leaks, water tastes of plastic, hard to use, long time to boil, etc) according to the reviews and there's not one that is loved by everyone.

If you can stand the look of it, I reckon these are a blooming bargain if they work for a reasonable length of time.

Innit a shame they don't make em like they used to though. Talk about disposable society. China do seem to have a worryingly upper hand these days.

I second that. Had many ASDA electrical items fail!
lol Asda and there shoddy electricals.

i have had a microwave didnt work out of the box so took that back. a kettle which blew up and electrecuted my 8 month's pregnant wife!. a deep fat fryer the handle fell off of the basket when lifting chips, out and a sandwich toaser that also went bang.

Needless to say i learnt my lesson and i will never buy another durabrand, onn or cheap asda electrical product again no matter how insanly low the price is
HOTter water
Was in asda today. These are actually surprisingly good quality. I bought a similar one from asda three months ago for almost 3x the price and it's fallen apart. However this looks very simliar to the one I bought three years ago for £5.

Bargain.
just got one of these and its great value voted hot

I know it helps no-one eight/nine years on but to add to the conclusion of this thread I am also still using the kettle that was bought at £3. It's used every day and must be one the best value for money electrical items ever bought. A very rough calculation tells me it has cost me £0.0003 per use! The best news is that we bought two cos they were so cheap and I've just found the second one still boxed, unused, as a ready replacement when the original finally conks out. I'm not expecting to buy another kettle until 2027 at the earliest!
