White Smart Lunar 25 Lux Front Bike Light £8.98 delivered @ J E James Cycles

This about half the price of other retailers. JE James have it for £6.99 plus £1.99 delivery, or free delivery if you spend over £10. So if you have more than one bike and want a light for each, you'd get them at £6.99 each as the order would be over £10. Bargain, methinks.

The black one is currently £9.99 in the Amazon lightning deal, and I found the above by accident while trying to find if anyone was selling the black one cheaper than Amazon.

The width of the beam is quite narrow, and it is sometimes hard to fit without extra padding, not a bad price though.

For the price, it's hard to beat. I looked at the overall reviews across a number of sites before deciding to post this on here. I don't believe in posting cheap tat just for the sake of it. I've gone for two of them and seeing as both my bikes are white with red and black detailing, these will go nicely with both...

I've been waiting to purchase these for ages, but was hoping for the front AND rear set.

Sometimes cheaper to buy front and rear separately. I already had two of the Smart rear lights from a previous deal (£3.99 each delivered), so these fronts were a no brainer at this price.

Just ordered with a cheap rear light as separate, but brings it just over £10 for free delivery. Good deal.

Really? Then why does it say this under their shipping info???

We use Royal Mail for deliveries under £50 in the UK. Royal Mail typically delivers within 1-2 working days after dispatch but we are unable to guarantee an exact delivery day. In the UK, orders of £50 and under are subject to a £3.95 postage charge.

I'd already seen this before I posted the JEJ one.

Don't skimp on rear lights, they're much more likely to save your life than front as you can't see what's behind you and the threat from cars behind you is always there.

And I mean 'lights' not light. Get yourself two rear lights, one can be cheap if necessary, leave one on solid the other flashing.

From memory this front light I'd an inferior model and I'm sure that the other model was about 10 quid last time I looked.

Ah, I stand corrected, my good man. I'd been clicking straight through to the light and then looking at shipping terms during my research, hence hadn't spotted the sale delivery terms. Well spotted, and it is indeed therefore a better deal than my post. Not sure if worth me cancelling and ordering from them for the sake of £2, but hats off for the info.

Not bright enough for Mountain biking etc at night would spend £5 more and get a Cree proper light that lets you see and be seen

You're best using two rear lights as you can't see if a back light's stopped working, just as vehicles behind then can't see you.

Surely that would be what your reflector is for? Not saying you should knowingly ride without lights of course.

Looks good. £5.99 and 3-year warranty (LIDL are usually good on the warranty side of things). You should post it as a deal!

Great light for city riding, you want something bigger if you're doing unlit country lanes or MTBing at night though as you'll want more throw but you're easily visible with one of these.

for bright front lights look for likes of Cree XML T6, like this amazon.co.uk/Haw…+T6
i have similar one, and it has more than enough light to ride in a full darkness (city/road/park)
you would need 2 of these or more only if riding at night through forest at high speed ...
these lights have 8.4V li-ion batteries, which would die quickly if not from a good source. i changed mine to a pack of 6xAA batteries (got holder for 4£), and its holds for about two weeks (1-2h per day)
