This charger is not much bigger than a plug and the two power pins can be disconnected and the earth pin folded flat to fit in a small bag if required.

I thought I'd see if I could find one that's better value with a bit more oomph.

This one is 2 Amps so can charge the hungrier devices eg galaxy tab.

Good price for a branded 2A charger capable of charging tablets. Heat added.

Just what I needed for my Note 10.1. Heat added.

Also need usb cable to go with it. If you just buy this may not be good enough for tablets

Hopes it a genuine product, bought a couple of 2amp chargers recently that were over specced! (and useless!)

Thanks op - been on the lookout for a cheap branded 2A for a while.

Heated and ordered

2A charger - worth the money

thanks for the heads up!

Yeah it's safe, your phone is probably designed for 1A max, so it will only draw 1A from the charger. Much better than the 500mA you get from normal USB chargers.

Better check to make sure it complies to the UK spec for safety etc and not a cleaver cheap copy from China.
TV show "Fake Britain" had some on a show which nearly killed a bloke.
I would buy with caution if I was wanting one. There is normally a reason for things like this being cheap.
Cold for me!:(

Is 2A enough for an iPad or Samsung Tab?

Yes, I think the iPad has a 2.1A charger from Apple, but 2A will be fine.

Plugging my iPad 3 in to a HP TouchPad charger which is rated 2A results in the iPad displaying 'Not charging'.
The charger that came with my iPad 3 has '2.5A 250V' written on it.

Finding getting the cables to go with the higher amp chargers tricky too, many I have seem to be not letting the full charge through and so device doesn't charge even near as fast as with the original cable.

The linked page does have a compatibility checker so you can see what they say it'll work with and recommendations if not, for some things at least.

You've not vanished off the face of the earth oO!!

Looks exactly like the one that came with my Note II. Will point out that when charging at less than full current (e.g. the trickle charge toward the end of my Note's charging cycle, or the whole charge on a device which draws less power) it makes a horrible high pitched squealing noise. I rang Samsung up about this and they said it shouldn't do this, but then sent me another one which is exactly the same.

Other people have reported this on XDA, but some people don't seem to notice the noise. It will affect people in different ways. I find it really annoying but it's only really around when I wake up in the morning and my phone is fully charged - I wouldn't be able to sleep if it made the noise from the start.

The Euro plug which came with my Note 2 does exactly the same thing, I currently use an old HTC charger because I find the noise so irritating.

Why no Mobot :(?

Any ideas why this isn't showing as compatible with the Galaxy Tab2 (P3110) but IS showing as compatible with the original Galaxy Tab (P1000)?

Decent company should be genuine. Also have Samsung micro USB cables which should be high capacity for £2.

£8 for a complete Samsung 2a charger has to be good value.

Seemed like I was just irritating people and getting irritated myself more and more so thought I'd knock it on the head.

Hope all is well with you

This seems a good piece of kit for those with compatible items.

On topic, hopefully this UK version is less "buzzy" than the Euro version I currently own...

with my note 2 i have got charger with output 1.0A. as this one is 2.0A would it be still safe and maybe more efficient (charging quicker)?

The Note 2's standard charger is 2A, it charges much faster (and is perfectly safe) with a 2A charger than a 1A.

Some of the items sold by Prepaymania are disappointing. I bought Griffin Travel speakers for iPhone and iPod from them and I had to return them as sound quality was very poor. The sound output was lower than the iPhone and iPod ! Sound quality was pathetic. Customer service team is poor. I had to pursue the issue vigourously and return the item for an alternative item. I had to pay for the return postage and remind them to send the alternative. Very bad experience.

so how to explain this.. on my charger says: samsung travel adapter, output 5.0V 1.0A, made in china..
it looks exactly same as this one (made from two parts and with folding pin). im confused now..
btw. first charge 0-100% took exactly 3hrs.

I've got one in black that looks similar - but only 1 amp - however it's thinner - The usb socket is is at the top of the plug whereas in the picture above it's more like the middle.. the extra thickness must be for supplying 2a?

No idea, maybe only the European chargers supply 2A (I assume yours is a UK charger)? I got my Note 2 from Germany, so I don't know about UK models.

Just got a note 2 not long ago, and was wondering where that noise came from - couldn't figure it out. The noise doesn't bother me, but hearing changes as you age. Younger people and women are more likely to hear high pitched noises.

I guess it's just Samsung's high amp chargers, my old S2 charger was totally silent (as it should have been).

Pleased to hear it wasn't us lot, you do have a thread dedicated to your whereabouts haha.

We thought something bad might have happened to you, with your sudden departure and all. Glad to hear it hasn't

Probably is defective, not worth sending it back for though, especially since it's not even a plug for my country.

Hmmmm. Wonder if it still hums in 2 pin plug land.

Anyone received one yet, noise update?

Thanks OP. Just ordered. Will be using it for my Pi.
