Free Willy? oO

I was expecting a pie with a whole chicken and some apples inside it

Got all excited at the prospect of chicken and apple pie for a second - thought McDonald's were trying out a new flavour... mmmm

Sounds good too .... SUPER HOT !

I thought Heston was with Waitrose ?

Anyone know if it's freerange? I vaguely remember all M7S Chicken products being freerange... might have dreamt it.

Not free range but higher welfare standard:

"Chickens are not housed in cages. Oakham™ chickens are reared in controlled environment barns. They are housed on straw or wood shavings and have constant access to food and water. The temperature and lighting levels inside the barn are controlled by the farmer. We know it’s important to give the birds plenty of space so we have adopted the RSPCA’s recommendation on stocking density, housing the birds at a maximum density of 30kg/m2.

The housing environments are designed to encourage movement and stimulate activity and natural behaviour. The lighting inside the house is used to create activity and we insist on having straw bales inside the barns which the birds use to roost and perch on as well as pulling and pecking at the straw."

The apple pie is free range.

Thanks for that... still it's free-range or nothing for me.

Didn't know M&S did puff pastry apple pies, is it a family size one?.....do you know how difficult it is to find these! Why are they all shortcrust, I hate that type and always end up having to buy apple turnovers.

Chicken & Apple Pie? Dirty bastards!

30kg/m2? And the birds are 1.5kg? 20 birds per square meter doesn't sound a lot of room to me. Means each birds has like a 22cm x 22cm plot of land to call its own - thats less than a sheet of A4 paper!

gravy or custard ? only one way to settle it..............

Food Police Alert .....

Chicken & apple pie?.....its like a 2 course meal all in one. Suppose its good if youre in a rush.

That made me LOL.

Nice to know the chickens are on higher welfare, although I doubt they'll live long enough to draw their pensions

You can give it all the space you want when you get it home!

can you get this without the apple? I don't like cooked apples.

FIGHT!!! lol

Ice cream would go well with the chicken & apple pie me thinks.

The pie is actually really tasty. Worth buying for it alone.

With Fish Custard for afters?

As the saying goes:
All meat is murder.

But enjoy.

I cracked up at the previous post about free range apple pie!

We have two apple trees in the garden so don't need the apple pies, but the chicken sounds good until B&Q deliver our chicken trees*

* free range of course.

They're actually Fray Bentos' latest rejected pie flavour - previous ones included Mince & Strawberry jelly and Tandoori Chicken & Marmalade.....

I would hope that the pie is whole - don't wanna go paying for a part pie.......
