What size chickens are they?
Got one last night, these are the Large Oakham chickens, great quality.
If they didn't overcharge so much in the first place, there would be no need for so called .half price' promotions.

Calm down, this is better quality than your tesco/morrisons/asda branded, and still a better price at £1.64 a kilo

With a 20% off staff discount, they are about the same price on the majority of items as Aldi, yet personally M&S is a step up in food quality in the most part. It all boils down to whether you find a 25% increase in price over Aldi worth the better quality produce.
Nice deal. Agree quality and freshness very good .
I remember shopping at an M&S one day and noticing price per KG, potatoes were more expensive than chickens.

Aldi have just pulled a sneaky one yesterday i discovered that they had again increased the price of the 1.4kg chickens from £2.79 to £2.99 the third rise in a couple of months but the kicker is they sneaky buggers dropped the size also from 1.4 to 1.25 very underhanded making these chickens work out at £2.39 per kg so the above deal is hot from me.

I have more than a lot of time for M+S
Hot

The chickens were half price along with the other items in their weekend meal deal. I bought potatoes & carrots at half price as well. When I went in today they were selling the potatoes, 1.25kg for 10p. Needless to say I bought a few more packs. This deal obviously wasn't very popular!
It's not organic, so that's one cold chicken.

They were probably free range potatoes!
How long can you keep a chicken in the freezer?
The reason I ask is because I put one in the freezer last night and it was dead this morning !!!!
Thanks, I think I will get one of these today.

For the past few years now, we have M&S chicken for Christmas Day as I'm not a huge turkey fan.

So, I'll be heading to my local M&S later to get a few for the freezer.

Cheers OP

was this chicken circumcised ???

It turns out that M&S, a supermarket that quite rightly prides itself on the quality of its food, has branded a whole line of its chicken as Oakham. They come from farms as far apart as Northern Ireland and the Suffolk coast, but none is in Oakham.
"I've had people coming up the A1, and they see the Oakham sign and they come into the town and say, 'Can I have an Oakham chicken?' And I have to tell them there is no such thing."

Wrong thread.
I went there this morning and saw none! In the end, I went for Asda special extra mince pies! I was so disappointed not to see even ONE there at 10.30am!

At least it is British chicken. Northern Ireland has some of the best farm land in the world also. I wouldn't worry about it not being from the town of Oakham.

I'm not worrying, I just find it amusing of the whole naming thing and people asking for it in that town.
