Found 13th Mar 2016
They have the salmon on offer for £4/kg which I believe is national, but I bought today at 2 different stores it costing not £4 per kg but £4 for the Whole salmon! This was already in the bag so you have to fillet it yourself.

I think it may be you who needs to read the posts before jumping in. Try again and this time concentrate on who the person you replied to was replying to.

Can this be made into sushi?

No. you need sushi grade salmon/fish for sushi, means it would have been frozen over -20°c to kill bacteria.

She actually clearly mentions that the 3Kg Salmon should have been £4/kg (so approx £12 total) but was £4 total at checkout

Sure, farmed salmon is all natural.
Sounds like bender has been taking some "additives".

Can this be made into sushi?

Yes. Take it home and carefully do absolutely nothing to it

(Actually prob not. For sushi it's usually frozen to kill parasites for 7 days or so, also if the shop isn't selling it for sushi they may not effectively avoid cross contamination in handling it. I'd buy from someone who knows what they're doing and what they're selling you. Also fyi - the term "sushi grade" isn't a proper standard but a marketing term.)

I believe it's fed pellets made from small fish (sardines etc..) so is fairly OK to eat..
But honestly the mackerels ( £2.50/kg) now at tesco are probably a better buy if you look at health reasons since they aren't farmed but caught in sea where they have been feeding themselves on fisch scum.

Mackerel gets a bit of a raw deal image wise but it's a far better 'oily' fish than Salmon.
