I asked at the fish counter.

It starts on 17th April. £5.50 per kilo, The fish counter will prepare it however you ask.

I am aware that other shops offer lower prices but this is the only store near me that will fillet it.

unless they going to cook it for me too, they not going to be preparing it however i ask them too
Funny? I've never come across a plaice (did you see what I did there) with a fishmonger on staff that wouldn't fillet a whole fish that i bought from them.

Seafood is one of the few instances when you are sold the whole animal. Knowing how squeamish westerners are nowadays, wouldn't they be losing sales if they did not sanitizing the carcass by cutting off the inedible bits and disguising its origin.

Asda will not fillet and prepare the fish, most Asda's don't even have a proper fishmonger serving
I asked last year and was told this by the lady serving on the fish counter, I always go to Tesco now and the last time the guy even offered to show my how to do it including removing the pin bones!

'Wild' Atlintic salmon: healthy. 'Farmed' Salmon: unhealthy.
My father fought fish farming for decades to protect the wild atlantic salmon that enter our rivers. I learned much about farmed salmon over that time and I'd never consider eating it. Just a quick google for "farmed salmon facts" and this is the first result i found. It sums it up.I've actually seen a colour card from the feed companies so that the farm can choose the shade of pink that the fish will turn out having consumed the dye feed. eatthis.com/sho…on/

I see what you did. Yesterday I went into my local Morrisons and ask they don't do it. Some do, very hit and miss.

Yeah, I struggled to eat the the last piece of farmed one I had in my fridge. Now, I buy frozen wild from Lidl.

Hopefully, I can find grass fed beef too.

That’s not true although they aren’t proper fishmongers they are trained to fillet and prepare as they do that in my store

Very true... I stick to it Sockeye
Farmed Salmon is unhealthy, I have heard this time and time again but what I cannot understand is why is it not been barred from selling to the general public, if the government is aware of its adverse repercussion on our health what are THEY waiting for, how many people have to suffer the consequences before they take action....

Write to your MP and ask them. That's what you pay them for.

Greed - it's pure greed.
The Scottish government prefer to put jobs and income taxes ahead of the environment.
Short term gains........
