Salmon sides also half price, at £8 kg if you dont want a full salmon

Thanks for sharing, I've added the retailer to your deals title as it helps people to see your deal better

Is this deals instore only? cant find it online.

Nice one, leaping down to Tesco now !

Still got some from last time it was on offer :-). But voted hot since its a good deal

Asda are doing Salmon at £4 a kilo too

@ Tesco - £5.00 a kilo
@ Sainsbury - £5.00 a Kilo
@ Asda - £4.00 a Kilo

Surely this is just a matter of time:

One pound fish!!!

Voted Hot! TESCO fishmongers are trained to a higher standard than Asda's so worth the extra £1 per kg to ensure your fish doesn't get wasted, plus they actually wash their hands before handling the fish (wearing gloves) where I was in Asda the other day in Blackpool and the guy cleaned up sick then without washing his hands went and handled the fish

I bet this contains sea horse!

Hope their salmon are better than their steaks.....just had one today....as tough as John Wayne....and as rubbery as an elastic band....Tesco ....rubbish.

Sorry to ask a stupid question, but is this the fresh counter only? Also if it is do they remove the head etc?

Fresh counter only. They fillet it if you ask. Ask them to descale it too. They gave us the two whole fillets and I portioned them at home. Maybe they'd do it in store if you asked?
We got 2 whole salmon for £23 last time this offer was on. Great deal! And we have a freezer full of salmon

awesome! salmon fillets taste yummy in the George Foreman!

seem to think I've read somewhere that you shouldn't freeze salmon for over a month.
I think it was on the label stuck on the bag when I bought one from Tesco at christmas

Uncooked Salmon can be frozen for up to 6 months

Interesting! So £5/Kilo is a better deal than £4/Kilo. oO

My asda doing salmon for £12.50 a kilo, went to get some today but had none so went to morissons and paid £12.99 a kilo!!!!! Shame I didn't read post earlier paid £19 altogether.

Frozen correctly in an airtight packaging it will last for up to 6 months, after that the quality deteriorates i.e. taste. I think it could be still safe to eat, but quality wise I'd stick to the 6 months max rule. Some fish last less and some should never be frozen. But salmon is perfectly good frozen

it says 3 months here so I suppose the recommendation varies

Ah 3 months then! Although, it varies on how correctly the fish is packaged and the temperature the freezer is set at.
It's only recommended 3 months because after that, fish is more at risk of getting freezer burn, but given the correct way of storing them has been applied surely they would be alright until 6 months. It is nothing to do with health implications, it's all about quality declining.

I got 3kg of salmon from Tesco for £10.50 and a free knob of cooking butter thrown in. So it was way cheaper than half price and delicious too.

I popped into iceland to pick up the Quorn deal posted and checked the prices out of curiosity; £10.71 a kilo with a banner above it saying "great value"

I feel that about 90% of deals i open up have a comment from you on there being very rude to people for forgetting to put something in the deal, or posting store specific deals when in fact, some people may not know it is store specific etc. Somebody here already said they would rather pay the extra £1 a kilo for Tesco rather than Asda so yes, to some people it is a better deal.

In what way was that comment rude to anyone?

It's now reduced down at Tesco to £3.99 a kilo bought mine from Blackpool TESCO yesterday and two young lads done a fantastic job, had one turned into fillets/skinned and the other one skinned/butterfly filleted ( bones taken out but fish still whole)

In general, a lot of your comments do come across as rude to people, or just nasty.

You don't need to criticize everything people say.
