“This book is a view of life and love through the eyes of an Autistic Adult, from being non-verbal and aggressive to acceptance and letting go. This is the remarkable true story of Jude’s journey from being a vulnerable Autistic child to being a Dad to a non-Autistic son. “

I found it hard to cope with initially but it does get easier, my son loves me, I love him and he’s happy, so we just deal with everything else as it comes.

It'll get easier, children with autism still learn, it just requires time and patience (although it can feel like you are breaking rocks trying to make progress).

It's Not academic learning I'm worried about. It's social learning.

I treat the two as the same, identify an area that your child struggles with and help them with it, ELC phonics toys and stem toys are a good start.

Not read it yet, but heat added for drawing attention to a subject that so many people have heard about, but know so little.

100 percent this! I teach children with ASD to swim and they really are unbelievable. Iv seen totally some of the most highly anxious kids turn a corner from not even coming out of changing rooms to safely jumping in and swimming.

Unfortunately it’s not been like that for our family, academically my son is on par if not slightly advanced compared to other children his age but socially, he lacks social awareness with tasks like talking to strangers, crossing the road etc. and although he likes the company of other children, he still doesn’t play “with” them easily and has more isolated play.
It has a great rating on GoodReads, it would be a shame not to give it a try. Thanks a lot for sharing!
It says 99p for me.

I used to worry about this with my son, but now I think f**k it, society can learn about the way he is socially.
99p now
I thought it was a book about my ex wife !

Autism ranges too much, you can't give advice or receive it everyones experience is so varied that what's good for some is bad for others..

Personally my life is pure chaos, but I love my ASD kids, one just got 4 A*'s A Levels and is off to Uni fully confident my other will never leave my side and is too severe makes my life a living hell each day.. simply driving past McDonalds becomes a full on meltdown and usually a kicked in car air vent..

These books re a good read to see someones experience with it, but its so different for us all.. it makes good not to be to arrogant about that.
