Triple Maturation is the secret behind the award-winning taste of Whyte & Mackay.

  • Stage 1: The finest malt & grain whiskies, matured for many years, are carefully selected by our Master Blender.
  • Stage 2: Next, they are each combined in sherry casks and matured once again.
  • Stage 3: Finally the aged malts & grains are blended and returned to cask one final time to attain a perfect harmony of flavours.
  • This dedication to the art of blending creates an extra smooth and richer tasting whisky.
  • Matured for a minimum of three years in oak casks
  • Savour it neat, on ice, with a mixer or in a cocktail
  • Best served at room temperature
  • 40% volume alcohol content

Whyte and Mackay can trace its roots back to 1844 in Glasgow. And if time has taught us anything, it's how to perfect our consistently smooth and rich tasting whisky. That's partly thanks to our triple maturation process and partly down to the abiding genius of our third generation master blender and those who came before him.

£2.40 goes on VAT + £8.05 on duty = £1.55 for the whisky + packaging!

Shocking amount of duty - makes you wonder how much the distillers make from premium priced whisky!

My husband likes monkey shoulder, would be like this?

Think Monkey Shoulder is probably a step up from this, so he might be disappointed. That said it's very subjective. I am very happy using this for mixing but wouldn't serve it straight.

I used to think this was ok until I tasted proper whisky - I’d imagine it’s for mixing but never have done. Can someone suggest a drink this would be good in?
