The Tough & Washable is usually well reviewed (as is the Wilko version). Typically when I was in on Friday & took a look for a deal on some to do the kitchen this wasn't running.
PS The half bottle of Wickes fence stain I found in the shed from a few years back went on a treat back in the autumn. Was great first time around too. Much better than the cheap Timbercare rubbish I had a go with.

Having used and been a big fan of dulux easycare I was sceptical of the wickes version.

However the tough version is very very good and covered the wall in two coats with a lovely finish.

£15 is a crazy price for a high quality paint.

I have to say, having tried Wickes fence stain, and interior paint, that it's the worst paint I have ever used. Other than Crown. Coverage was thin, I needed 3 coats to make it look acceptable. Far better off going for Dulux and only needing 1 coat.

It always surprises me people that buy cheapest of the cheap paint esp for exterior projects.. Its not that cheap if you have to do again meaning lots more paint more time getting weather etc..

    Still you live and learn.

I just done a large inside floor, dulux diamond varnish £125 a 5l 5 tins
The trade merchant was saying try cheaper brands approx half the price l could have saved £300 but l read reviews online before l did job and l felt it just wasnt worth the risk.

Always read reviews and for the best fence paint Cuprinol trade Op finish yes around £70 for 10l but it will look good and last for years thats why its £70 !
These cheaper ones B and M etc 10l for 6.99 are coloured water.

Paint your fence every year meaning lots more cheap pai nt to buy and buy again next year plus weekends ruined by painting

Worth highlighting that these are the vinyl versions, which are much better paints than the cheap non vinyl paints which are sold these days due to low VOC emissions, which are terrible paints to use. The vinyl versions now get branded as hard wearing etc. when years ago all emulsions were vinyl, non vinyl didn’t exist (apart from acrylic).

We painted our son's nursery with Wickes' Tough and Washable paint the other year and it's one of the better paints we've used and we've used a few.

I've used the matt version through my house and it has great coverage and applies really well.

Used it last month having used dulux easy care the month before. Not even in the same league. I won't be buying it again.

I agree. Dulux Easycare is great paint for the price. Used farrow and ball and not as good either!

Was a big fan of the Wickes paint.. .then tried the equivalent Dulux range. Wow, as much as I hate to admit it, Dulux is Dulux. 10 times better once you try it
