Just got back from my local branch of Wickes with a real bargain

their own brand loft insulation Size: 1160 x 7030 x 170mm is priced at £33.98 per roll, buy one get one free
they are priced on the shelves as £33.98 and they had stickers on the shelves saying "£16.99 two for one"
I asked a member of staff to confirm the price he went to the front desk and came back saying they are 2 for £16.99!

We quickly loaded a trolley and went to pay, where they came up as £33.98 bogof - we mentioned that we were told they were £16.99 for two, and the stickers on the shelf said that, so they honored it-
a member of staff checked the stickers to confirm this, then peeled them all off! -lol!

Just to add insult to injury I had a 20% off voucher from yesterdays Sun newspaper,

So got 8 rolls which should have cost £135.92 for £54.36 - BARGAIN in my opinion!

not sure if all stores would honour this, but maybe worth a go considering the saving!

hope this helps someone and good luck!

they are £16.99 a pack, but the stickers on the shelves said £16.99 two for one,

so they are a little misleading- so got what the sticker said, - paid £16.99, two rolls for the price of one!

Possibly for half that whenever we find out Gordon's plan for half price insulation :whistling:

wow, that's a good deal. heat added!

it's ok if you got the balls to demand it at the sticker price, what if the manager says no?

Currently free if you receive benefits and/or over the age of 70, and £199 if not!

Isn't everything free if you are on benefits? can't see the point in actually earning a living these days.

Why do you need balls to get it at the price that is stated on it? How can the manager say 'no' if its actually stated?

Bargain price, going to pop down there tomorrow to check it out. Thanks

If it states the price on the sticker, and it clearly wasn't stuck on by yourself, by law the manager has to allow you to complete one transaction, so two rolls.

After this, they're allowed to remove the stickers and tell you to buy the rest at full price, but they must let you make one purchase by law

How about for self respect? Something that those claiming benefits yet are able but not willing to work lack.

Thats not actually true.. The price sticker is an offer to sell it at that price.. you then make an offer to pay that price (at the checkout) which the shop can accept or decline.. (just as you can decline to pay what the sticker asks), until you have both agreed to accept the offer then there is no contract and no legal obligation.
