sorted bySellotape some a4 paper together,, put on top of toilet rim and cut around or fold over and cut after. Or use a wax crayon/ charcoal/pencil over paper and press against paper on top of toilet bowl to give template. Ensure you have where the fixings go on the template too. (edited)
I've just fitted one ...new one on me but there's a plastic insert that goes into you big hole...fin nar fin nar ..
...in the toilet ..acts a bit like a Rawl plug ...you then screw the bolts down ..tightish ...then push the toliet onto the fittings till it clicks ..then you can adjust the seat
...then push 2 'buttons' ....which I'm glad I actually read the instructions for a change as I was getting ready to prise it off with a screwdriver!
Seat then lifts off ...tighten fully..pop caps on ..then you can pop the seat back
Wasn't entirely sure it was going to be a good fit ..but fitted perfectly once you've moved it around..so I'd say its a pretty universal fit (edited)
Genuine question, not a cue for jokes about bog standard….
Second what says
Just fitted one an hour ago and it was nice and easy.
Click down. Adjust

I’m rubbish at diy but managed this one
remember seeing all the opened returns on the shelf in B&Q
I take it they're not dishwasher safe then?
That's due to Edinburgh already being
If only it was that so simple. Older toilets and modern toilets are not the same as the bowl can be different on the seat fixing points, and bowl shape, size wide depends upon bowl shape, they are not all the same.
Compare a 1970s armitage shanks toilet to a b and q toilet/ wickes etc (made in china) very different bowl and rim sizes despite the width, think oblong, think circle, dimensions are irrelevent if the seats not going to sit on the bowl correctly once you put your bum down on it. (edited)
These are environmental friendly seats!
Our new toilet 🚽 from wickes is environmentally friendly and difficult to clean compared to old ones!
Or just use the measurements provided to check it fits? 🤦
I've got a soft close seat from somewhere that seems to have suffered from the cleaning chemicals and is discoloured.
I'd happily spend a little more to get a better product, but I'm not interested in spending more and still having the same problem. I suspect the problem seat is made from Polypropylene, but can't see any material code on it.
The only way to test would be to do a burn test, which is obviously destructive.
As opposed to a thermoplastic…
Returned them to Wickes, no problem. But as I'd just about ruined my existing toilet seat's fixing, I had to buy a new one pronto. Paid £17 for a conventional fitted seat - quality was abysmal compared to the £10 ones, but I needed a seat and everywhere closes at 4 pm as it's Sunday.
