Found 29th May 2014
Full water butt kit at Wickes, down to £19.98. Includes the water butt, a solid one piece stand, a tap and a connector kit for the drain pipe.

Works very well and easy to set up and connect (bought it on the weekend, 10 minutes to set up). Raining heavily today so looking forward to some free water when I get home.

According to the Met Office, this will be particularly good if you live in Scotland!!

Well, money is not the only economy...

Same price in Argos. argos.co.uk/sta…htm
But be warned this has a four piece stand which is rubbish, Wickes one looks better.

I don't live in Scotland, but pay a standard water rate (unmetered property) so I'm not sure what the difference is. Some are metered, some aren't. Same as Scotland.

I live in the South West where, unfortunately our water rates are the highest in the country to pay for our beaches.. I guess its worth it though to live in the best part of the country.

Great thanks

Can you use these during a hosepipe ban? Tempted as the water is supposedly better for your plants

Yes, in fact its during a hosepipe ban that you'd be most grateful for having one!
It depends on the area you're in and what the plant likes, but generally they do like rain water over hard water.

Thanks, I was under the impression it was something of a gray area, I recall if you siphoned your bath that was technically not allowed

I got one in home bargains too but it was 12.99, does the job. (also comes with tap kit)

cold 14.99 in home … cold 14.99 in home bargainshttp://www.homebargains.co.uk/products/4464-slimline-water-butt-100-litre.aspx

I would agree with you, but comments about that one seem to suggest it doesn't have the kit to link it to the gutter?
