Where do you think all your generic B&Q extension leads and Homebase 3-way plugs are made!

Are these any good? So cheap compared to TP Link

Do you need anything else or will this plug work on it's own with alexa?

it makes me laugh all these smart plugs never say anything about power use
for all we know they are using 5w a device

totally missing the point of using one of these in alot of situations

Showing £8.99 now. Is there a code to use?

Sorry. Stupid me. Had to change to GBP

These look like the ones Amazon had on lightning deals for about £11 quid. Bit of a faff to set up (found some help int he Q & A on amazon as the apps/accoutns you have to connect to have different names) but go tit working with my google home flawlessly in the end

Can't find the link but it was a combination of the e famil cloud app and then i think it was creating a Smart life account (that is the name of the thing you have to scroll down to int he google home app)

Works with IFTTT?

Brilliant - thanks so much, I already had a Smart life account so managed to add it quite easily in the end. All sees to be geared up for Alexa and very little about Google Assistant. What hair I have can stay there for a little longer!!

You're welcome, glad it's sorted. Shame the instructions aren't clearer as it is pretty simple once you know what you need to do, and it looks like it's a pretty good product

Thanks op just bought 5 ..have a alexa and never really thought of adding plugs to it , but at this price ,it will be a nice add on for little money...thats my living room and bedroom sorted. just got to wait ages for delivery boo hoo lol

Been using these for about a month easy to set up and works flawlessly with Alexa... you set plug up first with its App on your smartphone first to connect it to you WI-FI then you can add it to your Amazon echo/ dot via the echo app on your smartphone...

Yep same as the amazon ones I just received at a cost of £13 each 😩

Anyone know if these work with smartthings? Slightly cheaper than the sonoff s20 and doesn't require flashing new firmware.

Do you get charged import duty?

what app do these things use?

When Ive bought other stuff and gone through DHL, they tried to charge (and were ignored). With the registered/normal airmail service, no duty was imposed. I also used 'dropshipping'.

I reckon that IFFT could be used as per community.smartthings.com/t/h…1/7

Going to give it a punt at £7

As much as I like the idea of these, I'm struggling to think of anything that this would work with except Christmas lights.

There's not much you can actually turn on and off (in terms of function, not power) by switching the plug on and off. Not in my house, at least.

Are these things marked with Uk/EU safety standards?

Usually used for hard to reach plugs. For example I have one behind the TV as its difficult to reach the plug to turn it off. A small heater used in a bedroom two levels up.

Hasn't it always been.......

oos

Take care, it says 13A on the plug, but 10A & also 2KW (less than 10A) on the specs.

It’s out of stock .. cannot add to basket

Unless you include dishwashers, washing machines, tumble dryers. All of which can be set up beforehand and programmed, via alexa, to come on the middle of the night when its cheaper etc. Not to mention lamps, audiovisual equipment, hard to reach plug sockets etc. all controlled from the same point.
