blackburns are a lot cheaper and the football slightly better

No it isn't. Robero Martinez is renowned for trying to play good football, whereas Sam allardyce......

Wigan fans saw themselves beat Chelsea at home last season.

Excellent price that.

Good price for a premiership ST

seen this deal posted before.

good price if you're a wigan fan but the sad fact is that they could sell a season ticket for 50 quid and they'd still have a half empty ground for most of the games.

Very good price for a family that supports them.

Love how Wigan is run, it is a shame that they don't fill the stands it's true, but I'd rather see these than Blackburn any day!

how did they do last season? i remember them doing really well against spurs & chelsea X)

Heat added, wish Spurs season ticket were even double this price, fat chance

Very good price for premiership football, my Grimsby Town season ticket cost more than this just for me & we're playing non league football this year !!!

'Trying' being the operative word!!

Saying that, im a Geordie, we play rubbish football and our season tickets are double this so i guess im the fool!

Good price, they should get more fans in this season.

The problem is Wigan is a huge Rugby League town and for some reason the football and rugby seem to be rivals.
I actually support both teams but am in a minority

yeh agreed....wish my st was cheaper...my team reading have just REDUCED their prices for this season to £375 (£425 last season) for adults.........think under 16s are £99 though

when we in the prem it was £545 i think, not as bad as the london clubs though!

not premiership but get more games for my money...lol!!

Good why of trying to fill the stadium. Good luck to them

Blackburn tickets are £209 this season, as I posted in the last Wigan Athletic Season Tickets thread.

At the end of the day, Blackburn's ticket is serious value for money to see the best of the Premier League come to Ewood Park fortnightly and play. It's also brilliant value for money for Blackburn fans, because quite frequently, you will see shocking results, such as the Arsenal result at the end of last season. Not only that, but at home, Blackburn were unbeaten against the 'top four' clubs in the Country.

Seems some people are just stubborn, and will slate Blackburn for any reason they can find. I find it hilarious.

That's quite obviously a matter of opinion, with no actual fact to back it up.

Martinez tries to play the football of superior players, and more often than not, results in losing.
Allardyce incorporates long-ball tactics in his Counter-Attacking, which, more often than not, results in something.

The World Cup final wasn't the prettiest game of football yesterday, but Spain got the job done, and that's all that matters.

Blackburn - 10th, 50 Pts. £209.
Wigan - 16th, 36 Pts. £250.

You don't hear anyone complaining when Tottenham use the long-ball tactic, do you?

Great price. Heat added.

I personally, will be boycotting premiership football this season,as a protest against that shower of s**t who dared to call themselves the England team.

What do season tickets actually allow you to do? Get in the games for free? Or for money off tickets on matchday? I've always been confused over this.

MK Dons is £180 for concessions, and £285 for adults. League 1 for the win!

a season ticket is basically a ticket for every home league game.

cup games and away games aren't included.

Very well said. Hot Deal!

I am not a Wigan fan but that is a great price.
Seems like they want families there not just all about the money like the Man U's and Chelsea's!

Say split the £250 into £150 adult and £100 child that's roughly £7 a game for the adult in the premiership. Incrdible value if you want to go there.

I'd like to see a few more teams subsidise this sort of deal with plaers wages, drop both and let one play for the other.

Get some real fans and atmosphere back into English football.

I don't think the comment was about who gets better results, clearly blackburn were a stronger team last season and accrued more points. The style of play used by Allardyce was simply referred to not being as aestically pleasing as that employed by Martinez. I think that is fair comment. Spurs occasionally use long ball tactics as do nearly all premier league teams except for Arsenal but that is usually done as an alternative method of play rather than as the main choice. I would rather watch Wigan than Blackburn and would guess that those who like to watch football that is pleasing on the eye would agree. Those that enjoy a more combative, still skillful but not as pretty game - which admittedly has recently been more effective than Wigan's recent play may prefer to go to Blackburn. Each to your own, with this deal hopefully Wigan will get decent numbers and other prem clubs without full houses every game such as Blackburn will also reduce their prices...but it is probably not that likely

well said he6rt6gr6m, im waitin to see who we sign before renewing mine...

teams like wigan and rovers just need to fill the stadiums so fair play.

united and chelsea can charge what they like cos they can fill their grounds.

You get your own seat for all the home league matches... so no queuing. Sometimes the club will throw in extras and you usually get priority for cup match tickets etc. At Blackburn you can get into youth team and reserve team matches for free with a season ticket... though they are not often at their home ground.

United may struggle, with the whole Glazier thing, but yeah. Teams like this NEED to fill stadiums to pay wages for their ridiculously over-paid players.

Blackburn's turn-over is about 95% on wages.

Well done your club. Great price for 19 afternoons out seeing the good and the bad of the top tier of british (in name only) football.

Us at Leeds have to part with £450+. That well done also goes to Blackburn and all the other so called 'smaller' clubs who try to entice fans.

Excellent price, well done Wigan. Voted hot. My ST cost almost £700 and we've a Chief Executive who thinks he's Bill Shankly and "Woy's" brand of "winning" football to look forward to...

Great initiative, more clubs should follow suit!

Hot, hot, hot!

great deal X) (but I would say that being a ST holder myself)

they also went on open sale today!

I still can't believe that some people moan when some non league teams have more expensive season tickets than Wigan oO

more details are also available here

good deal, it would cost you more than that at most clubs just to watch the games against the top 4, liverpool & cash city

This User is a SPY.

Brilliant Stuff from the Wigan Board. Well done Dave Whelan, you like SAF a bit much for me AND there is no doubt you will leave a great legacy. WIGAN Top division football. Fair play to the man.

No it wasn't. Like when at Bolton, big Sam plays effective yet pretty fugly football. Martinez has wigan set up to play attractive football win, lose or draw. He does get some stick from the home fans for sometimes sticking to these principles when results are needed.

But as in my op, if you think Rovers play better football, you need your eyes testing.

Very hot deal for the locals. Unfortunately I don't support Wigan but good luck for the 2010/11 season.

This is a v good price
Paid £250 for my Man City season ticket (just me not the nipper) and that's a cracking price for a top 5 Prem team
Wigan have ALWAYS been good to their fans
Heat added
And would also rather watch Martinez Wigan than Big Sams Blackburn
