Absolutely cracking deal, just disregard the inevitable comments about Wigan, etc. it's a cracking deal, hopefully will lead to loads of bums on seats and a great home atmosphere. Heat added.

good value for the championship, i guess

Great price for kids but are the parents prices still reasonable

Top deal.Wigan boys & girls go and support your home town.

its about time football clubs started falling in line with the rest of th economy. first stoke with the free travel to away games and now this wigan deal. great to see.

just a pity the big clubs dont follow suite. they will continue to bleed fans dry

have some heat for this though

Big clubs don't need to

Yeah put the pies down and go and watch some football!

Big clubs don't need to

So what you are saying is City DO need to?

Great prices. Under 5s is pretty much a waste of a seat.

Still need to drop the price of a beer and a pie!! Heat from me though as a Wiganer

Wigan always offer good value even for adults , no I'm not a Wigan fan but know a few that are .

wigan pies and beer are cheap and man city couldnt even sell out champions league games ??? check that out

Great deal, but wasted unfortunately. Wigan is a rugby town and they'll never fill that stadium for football

Good for kids as they will be able to run around in the ground as there won't be many people inside to bother.

They get more fans for football than they do rugby.

Yes that's what i'm saying...probably due to the extension we're planning to make it a 60,000 seater as it's that hard to get a ticket!

Gutted, saw an andywedge deal and thought I'd see some ladies ...

During the 80's Manchester City would regularly get circa 25,000 in a ground that could fit 55,000 (in the days of standing). They started giving free tickets to schoolkids via the local schools and look at their attendances now.. pretty much every home game is a sell out (in the home sections) and they are expanding to 60,000.

Wigan will benefit from deals like this in the next decade.. he's a cannie fella that Dave Whelan.

great deal for any wigan fan,a good crowd is worth an extra man any day,may even go myself since they beat my team in the fa cup final, though hope there pies are cheaper than citys, last season they were a mere £3-50 for a meat &potatoe, god knows how much they will be this season????,mind you looking at a recent picture of kinky i think,,he ate all the pies.now come on you wiganers get behind your team.

I'm guessing that's the point of the deal - I refer you to Geokinkladze's post

Anyone going for this out of their teeeny little mind!

Being a fellow bear, we know how it feels to fill our 50,000 seater week in week out in the low divisions

Brilliant deal! Well done to Wigan, I wish the top flight clubs would do this.

the real fans(myself included ) will be there for whats gonna be an awesome season.
the pies last year at wigan was £2.70.
the only gripe i have with the price of pies at SW stadium is whelan owns the pie company too,i would of hoped they be a little cheaper .
i dont eat pies personally(Well 1 every 2 month maybe) but my kid usually wants one and i just go gallaways or one of the million other pie shops we have on every block of shops.

COME ON LITTLE WIGAN!!!!!!!!

good value, also. free parking or used to be.

Excellent deal for a season ticket.

But I think if all tickets were free Wigan might not fill their stadium. As for people banging on about Manchester City, puh-leaseee! They would have remained Premier League relegation fodder for all time were it not for their oil bath that mysteriously washed a raft of 'fans' in with it.

Wish arsenal STs were this price!!

should fill a few of those empty seats where cardboard cut-outs are unavailable..

Hate when people praise the likes of Wigan for doing this...

They're not doing it to give back to the fans, they're doing it because nobody goes to their games.

It's a business decision, not a social or moral one.

Umm that sums up all professional football clubs. Hot deal no matter how you dress it up.

Exactly my point. Wigan are no different and don't deserve the praise they get on these threads from people who don't know what they're talking about.

It's only hot if you're a Wigan fan. To anyone else, unless you're one of these ridiculous 'fans of football (and not a team)'...this would be torture.

good deal

Great deals for the fans. Not sure you'll be the same team without Martinez.

more clubs should follow suit...

I know for a fact that one major football club (recently relegated) dont want to give cheap tickets because their chief exec believes it will "harm their brand" to have loads of kids in...

football is doomed!
