I had 4 planes for Jordan as I stopped over in Milan, if I'd been charged it would have cost more than my flights and accommodation combined.

Frasier

Be wary of weight restrictions as well as volume. The 40l was fine for me for three weeks and I think I could travel with it perpetually.

garryc1981

Cheers I had decided on the 40 but not sure it’s enough. Will be a lot of £50 charges if I can’t manage a carry on,

tek-monkey

No, it's above the limitations for all carry on luggage I've found. I bought a 40l off ebay for a trip in January, was winging it each day so needed a bag that was easy to carry around and my current cabin bag wasn't. What arrived was a 55l, which I kept as it's a great bag but I had to buy the 40l anyway as I was not risking £50 per flight to have it put in the hold! Even the 40l won't fit if you overstuff it, or pack it badly so it's more round than rectangular.

winchman

Not quite, 55 is a bit taller, 40 has laptop sleeve, on the 55 it's in the small rucsac.

Anyone able to give a comparison with Saucony ride iso?

amjl

Indeed. However I had physio a couple of years back on my knee and the guy recommended orthotic insoles rather than specific supportive shoes. I've now almost worn out 2 pairs of hokas, napoli (neutral) then arahi (supportive), and I prefer the napolis as they are more cushioned. I have now ordered some cliftons as they are supposed to be the classic hoka squishy soles, and will stick my insoles into them when the time comes.

No1dealhunter

They are neutral cushioned shoes. Not sure they’d be good for over pronation.

Probably not, but you will find yourself the recipient of an increasing amount of 'alone time.'

I like Lezyne lights but hate those straps, they're a magnet for thieves, I mean you can keep reminding yourself to remove them but I forgot once and my light got nicked. Don't get me wrong you can easily remove most lights but without the mount the light is pretty useless, unlike these. Mounts should be made difficult to remove, not easier.

Hi Perfectmark, thanks for that. Generally I can allow a few months before I buy so happy to wait for the next scorching deal to appear on HUKD and go with it - but just need a few pointers... sizes? I am medium size everything when it comes to clothing, good fitness and lean shape if that means anything with regard to finding the right bicycle size (really have no clue). weight - materials.. assuming lighter is better? use case - commuting 5-10 miles a day Budget, value for money is all i really care about. Anything under £1000? whatever is the best VFM. If this range presents options I wouldn't appreciate having barely used a bicycle, I'd want something cheaper. If I'm to patiently sit on HUKD and strike at the next opportunity (there seem to be many) is there any particular setup/config I should look out for? I dont have any objections to a hybrid - not a hobbyist or interested in being able to take it through crazy terrains! just a means to an end.

perfectmark

I would probably recommend a hybrid bike with disc brakes to someone that is getting their first bike, as riding on drop bars can take some getting used to. But I would just go to a bike shop which has a good selection of bikes, try a few out within your price range and get the one you like the best. Don't get too hung up on component levels (105, Tiagra, Ultegra etc) as they are all pretty similar. The more expensive ones are just lighter and maybe have an extra gear, but as long as they are all setup properly, they all should work just as well as each other.

Baby oil is dirt cheap :D I have mounted the levers of these euro style set ups upside in the past. Probably not recommended, but it certainly worked OK until I got a second brake so I could swap the hoses over.

Gareth79

£16 for a litre, which will last forever since it doesn't absorb water. The 3rd party bleed kits are better than the factory ones and maybe £15-20 for a good one.

basergorkobal

Good deal. If you only need one brake;)

..and the bleed funnel, mineral oil, syringe and tube if you don't have them already. And that Shimano mineral oil is stupid expensive

I have had a few Columbia walking trainers (not these though), the fit is a normal / little wide. Both my 'waterproof' leather trainers and my out-dry have stayed dry even through puddles and wet grass. Though prefer the out-dry as they are breathable, whereas the 'waterproof' ones aren't and my socks are damp from sweat.

Libre11

Really? That's not a good sign then, as it says their Omni-Tech is 'Guaranteed Waterproof' :S .. Would there be any chance, the water got to your feet from the ankle & not the actual shoe? Not discrediting what you're saying By the way - Just trying to work out why they'd mislead people if that was the case (confused)

Mr_xx

I bought these from wiggle last year. The fit is okay but won't be too good for people with wide feet. The worst thing about these shoes is that they are not actually waterproof. I've used them in rainy conditions walking through streets and my feet still get wet.

Are there any decent prices on the 245 with music?

davebush

As others have said this has been £199 at Argos a few months back https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/argos-sale-starts-tomorrow-3373243. I bought it then and it’s a great watch, but it’s an older model so doesn’t have new functions like body battery. If you’re going spend around £250 then I’d get a Garmin 245 or Vivoactive 4. As for Apple vs. Garmin then if you’re in anyway in to sport then the Garmin is the way to go (my wife and I moved away from AW) with superior battery life/tracking/Stats.

Msx98

But the 6 is the best looking of the three fenixes imo.
