How are you people hooking up your Wii's to the net? Do you have to use a Wii Lan adapter? Ta

The comes with built in wireless, it simply just works

I think it has a LAN port too but I've not checked that out yet as I've had no need too

The Wii has WiFi so if you have a wireless router you can connect it like that or you can buy a Wii wired Lan adapter for £13-20 depending on where you get it from. Although I don't know if it is anything more than a USB/Ethernet converter which only cost £4 on amazon. Also, you need broadband, not dial up to connect.

You also need to be running 64 bit WEP encryption, and be within a reasonable distance to your wifi router.

Thanks for the info guys - couldn't find anything about this in my amazon.de Wii manual!

WEP :P

You need to have at least WPA for a more secure wireless network........but thats another topic in itself !!

Make sure your WAP is running in B+G mixed mode. Mine was in G only, and the Wii wouldnt connect.

That had me scratching my head for ages until I stumbled over the answer on a web forum.
