Release : 24/07/2009. Cheapest price I can see for this at the moment ...

A brand new version of Wii Sports that offers gamers a day at the beach. This sequel to the popular Wii Sports makes use of the Wii MotionPlus accessory, which gives players the most responsive and realistic experience possible. The Wii MotionPlus accessory, which is included with Wii Sports Resort, plugs into the base of the Wii Remote controller and, combined with the accelerometer and sensor bar, provides an experience that gives players an even greater sense of immersion.

Just as with Wii Sports, people will love competing against friends and family. As the competition heats up, Wii Sports Resort is as much fun to watch as it is to play. First-time players will find it easy to pick up a Wii Remote and jump into the action. Wii Sports Resort takes place on a tropical island. A wide range of activities will keep players coming back for one more round. Some sample activities include Sword Play, Power Cruising (racing a water scooter) and Disc Dog, which involves accurately tossing a disc to a cute, Mii-like dog.

The Wii MotionPlus accessory for the revolutionary Wii Remote controller again redefines game control, by more quickly and accurately reflecting motions in a 3-D space. The Wii MotionPlus accessory attaches to the end of the Wii Remote and, combined with the accelerometer and the sensor bar, allows for more comprehensive tracking of a player’s arm position and orientation, providing players with an unmatched level of precision and immersion. Every slight movement players make with their wrist or arm is rendered identically in real time on the screen, providing a true 1:1 response in their game play. The Wii MotionPlus accessory reconfirms Nintendo’s commitment to making games intuitive and accessible for everyone. Nintendo will reveal more details about the Wii MotionPlus accessory and other topics

Just note it's the only game that will work with the MotionPlus (when released), the new accessory is not backward compatible with older games

In addition, they don't ensure that price on release, I ordered at £22.49 and it was bumped up to £29.99 without any correspondence.

I'm waiting to see the reviews for wii sports resort after the japan launch and then decide if to buy the motion plus on its own or not.

Sega and EA both have tennis games using the motion plus and I really want a decent wii tennis game.

Next stop is a really decent boxing game to use motion plus.

lol, obviously. That's actually kind of wrong though. EA will be releasing a tennis game compatible with motion plus before the wii motion plus is actually released.

Note that apparently wii sports resort is released on the 24th July but the motoionplus is released on the 10th June.

Not that it makes a lot of difference if resort will be the only compatible game!

Surely they could "patch" older games, certainly the most popular ones, via a channel if necessary. Oh wait - sorry I forgot, I'll have to wait for them to re release them @ £40 in a few years time (like the gamecube NPC wii games). Nintendo are a bunch of crooks

Not quite sure what is so difficult about wii motion plus that it couldnt have been included @ launch.

BTW - any ideas on prices for the add on on it's own?
