Previously, video games played on a home console have been confined to the TV and offered identical viewpoints to each player in a multiplayer environment. Furthermore, watching TV and playing console games have been completely separate experiences. The new controller removes these boundaries, creating a more dynamic and fluid gaming and entertainment experience. The type of gaming experiences made possible by Wii U and the new controller include:

In single-player games:

The new controller can display information on its screen that does not appear on the TV.

The information and viewpoint can also change in the new controller based on the orientation of its gyroscope.

In multiplayer games:

The player using the new controller can have a different experience than those looking at the TV. This will offer a wide variety of competitive and cooperative opportunities

In addition to the 6.2-inch screen, the new controller also features an accelerometer and a gyroscope, a rumble feature, an inward-facing camera, a microphone and speakers. Adding these features to the Classic Controller button scheme; two analog Circle Pads, +Control Pad, A/B/X/Y buttons, L/R buttons and ZL/ZR buttons - will enable a breadth of game-play experiences while appealing to both casual and dedicated video game players.

Wii U combines motion-sensing game play with the ability to support full HD graphics. Each Wii U console will be partnered with a new controller and can also use up to four additional Wii Remote or Wii Remote Plus controllers. The system is also backward compatible and can play all Wii games and use all Wii accessories. The Wii console has sold more than 86 million units globally and greatly expanded the overall audience for video games. Wii U aims to expand that audience even further. Developers worldwide are already working on new games and experiences for the console.

Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition

Developed by WB Games Montreal, Batman: Arkham City Armoured Edition is the enhanced version of the award-winning blockbuster videogame created by Rocksteady Studios. The Wii U version delivers the same impactful story and gameplay as the original title, this time with enhanced gameplay mechanics and features made possible with the Wii U and the Wii U GamePad.

Batman: Arkham City is based on DC Comics core Batman license and is set in Arkham City, the new maximum security 'home' for all of Gotham City's thugs, gangsters and insane criminal masterminds. Featuring an incredible Rogues Gallery of Gotham City's most dangerous criminals including Catwoman, The Joker, The Riddler, Two-Face, Harley Quinn, The Penguin, Mr. Freeze and many others, the game allows players to genuinely experience what it feels like to be The Dark Knight delivering justice on the streets of Gotham City.

Battle Armoured Tech Mode (B.A.T. Mode) - A new upgraded battle suit for both Batman and Catwoman gives players an additional power-up by allowing them to build up kinetic energy during combat. When activated, Batman enters B.A.T. mode, whereby he doles out more damage and has a heighted sense of enemy locations.

Wii U GamePad Functionality - The GamePad touch screen allows players to truly be The World's Greatest Detective with the newly designed, wrist-mounted Batcomputer. Players can select their gadget, track evidence, upgrade their gear, set and detonate explosive gel, and more, all without ever leaving the game.

Reimagined Gadgets - All gadgets have been reimagined to utilize the power of the GamePad. For example, players can now use the new Sonar mode that enables Batman to quickly probe his surroundings to develop the tactics needed for success. Players can then select, customize and equip their preferred gadget loadout, as well as access a real-time map of Gotham without ever leaving the action of the game. The new controller also allows for an unprecedented level of accuracy when using the Batarang and scanning for clues.

GamePad Only Mode - The full game can be played directly on the GamePad, no TV is required.

Resident Evil Revelations features series favourites Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield, plus respective BSAA partners - Parker Luciani and Jessica Sherawat. The action begins on board a supposedly abandoned cruise ship, the Queen Zenobia, where horrors lurk around every corner, before players head for the mainland and the devastated city of Terragrigia. Now is the time to buy !! hot stuff

I want a Wii U soon, and will definitely want one when X (whatever it ends up been called) is released but am I the only one who thinks this is way too expensive?

I seen a bundle with Zelda the other day for £150 and was tempted though but that's about as far as I would go in terms of price. Is it just me who thinks this way?

Why is this worth nearly £300? What am I missing lol

You saw a Zelda bundle for £150? Was it on here? If it was, then I'm terribly upset that I missed it. If it wasn't on here, where did you see it?

I do think the system is overpriced. I got the £199.99 Zelda bundle that you're talking about. I then bought Pikmin 3, Zombi U, Wonderful 101, Super Luigi Bros and a Pro Controller. So in total £300 and I feel like I have everything I could possibly want that is out right now.

Well pleased with the console overall though, no regrets and i'm hard to please these days when it comes to video games. Plenty of key games to look forward to as well like Super Smash Bros.

Superb deal, I ordered the Windwaker zavvi bundle, regretting it as it arrived in a small box with no padding, the corners look like it has taken a bash in transit so I'm sending it back as I don't want a console that packs in, Shopto always did great packing jobs when I used to buy from them a lot.

This is a good find, and is technically 'Hot' (which i will vote for) as it's a great price compared to other sellers.

However, for those considering buying this please beware - you will own a Wii U after purchasing.
Dont say i haven't warned...

Haha, I'd love to own one!

A bundle with no "shovelware filler" titles, have some heat.

hot

What is the current value of all the included games approximately? Less than £80?

Yup was on here and Pablomozza has posted the link
It seemed like a really good deal but still wasn't enough to make me buy however in comparison to some of these past few deals I think it's a right steal but unfortunately that one has expired now - no doubt some bundles like that will come on again.

Yeh, it's definitely overpriced but they are starting to get quite a few good games now which is what is tempting me soon. If there are a lot of good games price will eventually become irrelevant but right now I am waiting. My next purchase is a Vita as been wanting one of those from day 1 but again I waited until there were a lot of games I want for it

Wii U hot deal....

£2... **** that

Surely the price of these will drop like a stone when the proper next gen consoles with 4 times the power come out in a month or so ? The sales have been so horrible for the wii u since it launched.

The weekly worldwide total for the wii u & wii is less than half the 360 which is 8 years old and a quarter of the ps3 which is 7 years old. This sort of makes sense as they have similar or better performance overall, cost half the price and have an huge back cat of amazing games available for hardly any money at all.

Diehard Ninty fans might not want to here it but its dead man walking here.

And the Wii was a Gamecube with gimmicky motion controls in terms of hardware, a far cry from the powerhouses that were the PS3 and Xbox 360 at the time, but that hasn't stopped it from selling over 100 million units, far more than both the PS3 and Xbox 360. Throwing more power at a console isn't going to make it better, it's the games catalogue, which at the minute the Wii U doesn't have either.

I wouldn't say it's a dead man walking, once some proper first party games start going out, Nintendo will hit their demographic, it's been a terrible year for sales and realistically, the PS4 and Xbone will outsell it, but if it still has solid first party titles, there's a lot of Nintendo fans who'll pick it up just for them.

Awesome deal! I picked mine up a while back from HMV for £200 with a couple of games, and have no regrets. Really enjoying Zelda & Pikmin at the mo. If I hadn't, it would have been this or the £200 Zelda bundle that made me cave. Strongly recommend this console, especially if you can get a few friends over and do some multiplayer. The online multi is decent too on the titles which support it, especially considering it's free.

Haven't had a Nintendo console since the N64, and didn't own one before that - although used to play on my mates SNES when we were little - so hardly a diehard Nintendo fan over here!

I'd optimistically predict a Christmas pick-up for the Wii U sales. I'll be buying into the PS4 or the Xbox one after they get a couple of decent game releases/exclusives and a few rounds of price drops - or a stunning hotukdeal - and I wouldn't mind betting that others are planning the same approach. The Nintendo option would definitely be the better pick this Christmas IMO, but I guess it all depends on how well informed parents are when it comes to buying Christmas presents etc, and how good the various ad campaigns are.

Great deal. HOt, im still so happy with my wii u basic. and great games just around the corner. wii u will rise again like a phoenix

Great deal. I'll probably pick one up in the January sales though, with the new Mario game. I can't see parents paying ~£400 for the new Xbox/Playstation, unless they love spoiling their kids.
Oh for the days of £79.99 Gamecubes...

Hot deal for me.

Like others, I still expect the price to drop heavily in early 2014 but this is a pretty good bundle for a machine that you'll certainly get a good 2 years out of in terms of new material (1st/3rd party).

I'll be holding off for now until my eldest turns 5 in March. Will see how Wii U prices stack up against 2DS/3DS then before deciding what to get him.
