Just been on Tesco Direct and think this deal is OK for what you get, similar to the Game deal. You get a Wii U 8GB Basic, Super Smash Bros. Wii U & an Amiibo character for £179. Only seems to be the Pikachu Amiibo in stock at the moment, but the deal ends on the 31/12/2014 so there'll probably be more choice available later... Don't think this has been posted yet- it's my first time posting so fingers crossed!

if you're prepared to wait until the 31/12/2014 then there will be better deals than this :P

Anyone know if you can upgrade the HDD? I want a Wii now but 8GB is less than my 10 year old MP3 Player...

i've played around 6-8 games installed updates and game saves and still have space left, hdd is flash memory built into this, so again you upgrade it with a usb drive, preferrably a usb hard drive

There is no internal hdd you can upgrade. You can however add up to two external usb storage devices (up to 2Tb).

I'd note people have complained about usb Flash drives failing. Some claim a micro sd in a USB reader is more reliable but i have no idea how true this is.

As stated in the link kindly posted above, a stand alone self powered hdd is recommended

It's not that they fail, as I had issues with a micro sd in a reader, it'll work just some games simply don't like it and error out

I had a error with MK8 that you couldn't bypass only option was to copy the data off the usb and back to internal and use internal only, think it's a speed issue more than anything.

Ohh rats, you're right. That was the only Amiibo in stock when I posted the deal this morning. Does anyone know if I have to expire the deal as they're out of stock on the Amiibos right now or if I have to wait until the deal properly runs out on the 31st? Sorry, I'm a bit new to this!

Update: The Princess Peach Amiibo is now available!

nice deal good price HOT,

BUT

i am going to wait for it to be cheaper or price drop as all i want it for is nintendo games mario zelda and a few others, i hope their next console will be a power house and not like wii or wii u well the wii u aint bad in power just programmers find it easyier to make for ps4 and xbone

Has anyone else noticed how wii games look worse on the wii u in wii mode?, especially wii sports. I had my original wii connected using component cables the ones with 5 coloured plugs and the picture was excellent, now using hdmi cable on the wii u and it is worse graphics and I'm using the same Panasonic 1080p tv. Wii u games graphics are excellent as expected, just can not understand why in wii mode there worse than the original wii.

The code's only for selected electrical items unfortunately and doesn't include this bundle, sorry.

There's good evidence to suggest a slim version of the gamepad is on it's way. Possibly the console too.

Do you have any sources available? That's the first I've heard of it and I'm interested to find out more.

Do you know this or are you just guessing? I was going to use double up tesco points to save a few quid, but may hang on if you know of any particular deals (PM me if you can't post)

Thanks

I don't have any proof but just look at how pricing fluctuates.... the Wii U basic has been bundled with 3x games and a wiimote for £155. £180 for a basic seems like a lot! This close to xmas there wont be many price cuts as retailers have consumers by the dangly bits if they're silly enough to leave buying big purchases this late. So, yeah I would 'guess' that the new £150 price point for a wii u basic will continue during the Jan sales and you'll probably find better deals than this! (last year you could get a Premium for only £10 more!... £189.99)
