Missed the £150.00 smyths deal but spotted this one. Still £30 cheaper than normal rrp...

I'd hold out for the Wii as these will drop in price further.

Cheapest available right now for the impatient, so good deal in that sense, but yes it's nowhere near the £150 Smyths deal from yesterday, and if you can hold out I really would as I suspect in the next few days and weeks we'll be seeing that pricepoint again.

It's held its price quite well

With the switch around the corner these will be reduced to clear in a week or 2 for half the price.

Best to wait I think. No point paying this right now, unless you really need a Wii-U.

Too be fair, people have been saying that for years.

We haven't known about the Wii Switch for years, so how can people be saying that? When the Wii Switch is released, lots of retailers will be discounting the Wii U. Patience is a virtue.

While this is the best deal today ( I gave heat it deserves) I'm waiting for another £150 deal. Cancelled my Switch pre-order as there wont be alot to play for a year+. If another Wii U deals shows up I will be able to play Zelda and all the back catalogue for a year+.

1) It's just the switch, not the wii switch :P
2) They've been saying that the Wii U will drop in price over time for quite a long time. Nintendo have been very stubborn with the console's pricing so far. Maybe there will be clearance discounts, but personally when it comes to Nintendo, I just can't tell anymore. Retailers also may not have been getting much stock of Wii U consoles too since it's not been selling well and we've known the switch was coming. I could be wrong on that though.

My thoughts exactly. I cancelled my pre-order and did just that, albeit with the Argos £229 pack (Mario Kart and Smash Tennis). I'm really enjoying all the Selects range and the general availability of some very well priced games at the moment. It's also a nice bonus being original Wii compatible (with controllers obviously) as I picked up some older classics like SM Galaxy, Paper Mario, Resident Evil 4 etc for crazy prices. I'm up for the Switch too in the future, but only when it has a reasonable back catalogue.

Good story but false. All consoles get cheaper when the newer version comes out. Time will tell.
