I've GOT to know what Brazilian it means...the first thing that came to mind doesn't seem to be applicable to a games console...

I did mine, was quick, easy and totally worth it. Even if you have a stack of games already, like I did, having them all just a click away is great and meant I've had so much use out of it. Definitely breathed new life into mine

Not bad! I'm looking to replace a broken gamepad and used ones are £50 and up on their own.

Gotcha, thanks. Can't imagine why anyone would go for the discounted version for only £2 saving, given the potential state of them!

It's always one of those situations where I think I'd like to purchase in store. Edited the description to show the conditions.

Tell me about it My base unit bricked last week so I was looking on eBay for a replacement (which I managed to replace for £34, getting a Premium) but whilst looking I noticed the price of the gamepads.

Out of interest, does anybody know if it's possible to sync two of the gamepads to a Wii U?

No. It's not possible syncing 2 Gamepads to an individual WiiU. No game would take advantage of this feature besides.

Ah, shame. The original intention from Nintendo was to allow the functionality of two gamepads on one console.

I'm not really sure what happened to be honest. Just a bit of messing about. I bought the Wii U from Game around 3 years ago, but it was only ever used a handful of times, by the time we got round to it the disc drive had failed (don't ask, I really don't know - unless one of the kids put something in there). That was the reason for the hack, just to play the games I had on disc, which were a fair few.
Oh I see. I'm toying with the idea of messing with the Wii side of it so I can play gamecube games on it, but that looks to be getting a bit trickier and I don't want to spoil what I've got!

What's happened to make it trickier? Are Nintendo still releasing OS updates for the Wii U?

The £68 one will be some trash that they found... The £70 would be the better option but it's CEX so pot luck.

You know there's definately going to be something janky with the £68 one! Be Warned!!

There's 2 sides to it, the Wii u side, which is pretty straightforward and you can play the all Wii u games including Wii and vc games available from the store. But then there's the old Wii side of it, which, and I'll point out I really don't understand the technicalities, is like a Wii inside your Wii u, which you can hack separately, in doing that you can then play anything you could play on a Wii, so all Wii games and gamecube games.
I did hack my original Wii back in the day but remember it was more involved than what I had to do with the Wii u and had a few 'have I bust it' moments
Nice deal - Heat added 🔥
Silly cheap - heat

I just amended one of these for a friend - very easy to do... the biggest chore is the extra SD card step needed to transfer content over to a connected HDD.
I recommend you don't install the cold boot hack... if you're mindful, there shouldn't be an isue with it but all it takes is an unwitting user to merely change the location of the app on the home screen to brick the box.
Running HaxChi takes a few seconds and lasts until the box is rebooted so it isn't a massive undertaking and most kids over 6 will get used to doing it (especially when their favourite unsigned content doesn't load without it)

You don't need to touch the wii side to play wii or gamecube games anymore. I'm happily playing super Mario sunshine on the gamepad launched from the wii u menu.

Do you need two separate hard drives? One for Wii U stuff and one for Wii games? I have a Wii with hard drive which I can move over to Wii U maybe. I guess you rip the discs for Wii U in the same way as with Wii. I have all the original games am not a lol. I agree, it gave me a few of those moments, but it seems to be a pretty tough machine.

Yeah - the Wii U formatted HDD is unreadable by the vWii and vice versa.
I love my wii u. Worth it just for mario kart. Hot.

Only need one hard drive now using the link I posted above, all my Wii u, wii and GC games are in one hdd and all launched from the wii u menu and support the gamepad controls (unless it requires a wii remote).

Awesome!
I've not read loads on it yet but I take it you put Wii games in some kind of bubble and transfer them via SD, as you have to for Wii U games then?

I have an adapter as well but haven't had much time to use it yet, also annoyingly you need a wiimote to be able to use another controller, I have one but again haven't got round to it yet. On Sunday I'll try use the GC controller adapter and also a 360 controller (unlikely I'll ever use this but science). Controls are OK, but no analogue triggers is a pain (sunshine more than most other games), but they built in a half press method. Probs better with the GC controller but I love been able to watch TV and play in the gamepad.

i enjoy off-tv play too, infact i don't even have my wii u connected to a tv anymore. i've actually used the wii u injection app to make Mario Kart Wii playable on the gamepad with gamepad controls.

im considering a wii u pro controller, but think its quite pricey at £25 for a 2nd hand one. have you tried the wiimote and classic controller combo, that has analog triggers.

I have a wii u pro controller as well, and a wii classic Pro controller, not sure if it has analogue triggers on mine, I'll check at the weekend. 3rd party wii u pro controllers are under £10 on Aliexpress.

Thanks for the info. Got mario sunshine up and running without too much bother.

Built the file without auto boot into nintendont, so I can enable the memory card emulation, bit of a pain doing it each time though.

Can't decide whether to for luigis mansion or rogue leader next!

You can enable memory card emulation in the wii vc creator. Mine autoboots and the memory card works fine. Select the nintendont sd card menu and you can do it there.
