When it gets below £130 I'll go for it.

Great price. Although Nintendo Land is only worth around £12 it's an awesome game for local multiplayer

The Wii U seems to have been a commercial failure, and there does'nt seem to be that much demand for it...apart from the odd title. Does'nt seem to have the software support of the other two ie Microsoft & Sony. Think Id wait until they're around half this price.......can't be that far off.

It has completely tanked as a system, which is a shame as it's pretty decent when you play it. It's been at this price for a couple of years now. Almost like Nintendo have given up on it to the stage where there's no point introducing a price drop.

You know, I have a PC (fairly basic gaming one), PS4, Vita and a Wii U.

I find the PS4 is by far the best gaming machine (yes, if I could be bothered to spend the cash on a top-end PC, perhaps that could topple it), but I actually get by far the most gaming fun from the Wii U. The top Nintendo games it has are far more innovative and fun than what's been released for Sony so far, and Microsoft even more so.

For basically £200 they should include an actual good game (than a tech-demo) with everlasting replay value, i.e, Mario Kart 8.

I only use our wii for the balance board fitness games so is there any point even thinking about upgrading to the wii u?

If the library of games doesn't interest you then no.

Love my Wii U!

From "current gen" I have PS4, Wii U, Vita, & 3DS and have played Xbox One. Wii U is a console I really enjoy, PS4 is fine and has some great games but it's a fairly soulless experience. Wii U is all about simple, well crafted fun.

Purchased mine Dec 2014, knowing full well it was tanking in sales, if sales figures are a big factor in you buying a console, Wii U isn't for you. Ignore sales figures and you will be rewarded with a great console!

got a Wii mainly for kids. It can run homebrew channel giving MASSIVE back catalogue of entire Wii games list. My boys love Disney infinity star wars and Lego games. I love Mario kart 8 and smash bros. let's not forget new Zelda coming out which looks set to be one of the best yet. got my Wii u second hand with 8 games!

....for £200

Always get the idiots who prattle on about how the Wii U is a failure blah blah blah. This site is about finding the best deal, it's up to people if they want to buy it or not.

A product is worth the money if you will get the enjoyment of using it, not because someone says it's not cheap enough because it's a commercial flop.

There are plenty of excellent and
original games to keep most people more than happy until the next console comes along and takes time to be established.

Doesn't seem a good deal since can find the Mario Kart/Splatoon bundles for £205-220 every few weeks.

In terms of value for money, might be better to seek out the Splatoon/MK8 bundle.

In terms of a system, Wii U is a console for people who have real, live friends who you meet in real life, not online.
Nintendoland is thus one of the finest party games out there- anyone can play so long's you got another controller and everybody will want a go. Even the most adamant non-gamer will want a crack after a couple minutes in my experience.

Tl;dr- alright deal; better out there; people need to stop fanboying on a deals site.

Surely this isn't a great deal compared to the £20 more for Mario Kart 8 & Splatoon?

Supermod

Its a good price but for an extra £20 you can get Splatoon and Mario Kart 8.

jvallis1992

When it gets below £130 I'll go for it.

my value is currently estimated at £130. Call me.

unfortunately,Wii U was a flop.
it has a handful of really good, fun games, but a fail nevertheless.
and £200 is too much for it in 2016,when the new console will be released in the same year.

£200 isnt what I would call a great deal, but I wouldn't call it expensive either. £200 seems to me bang on for this model WiiU with Nintendoland included. A solid piece of hardware with (now) a truly excellent library of games.

I've thoroughly enjoyed owning a Wii U. I've had mine for about 2.5 years and I paid £199 for it back then for exactly this package. Even back then there were people saying it would be £99 after Christmas. If you don't want to play Nintendo games it's not for you. It never was, and it never will be. I love Nintendo games and I not only get a lot of enjoyment out of the games that I've already purchased for the console, I'm greatly looking forward to new games like Pokken Tournament, Star Fox Zero and the new Zelda Remaster and the fully fledged new Zelda. Some people just don't want to play FIFA and CoD and I am proud to be one of them.

Voted HOT on the price.

No one can deny the absolute success of the previous Wii console, any that do are complete mongs and have no idea what they are prattling on about, the 2nd generation Wii console should have been more like the Xbox one graphically whilst keeping the throw away general gamer type system and the overall "fun" factor, unfortunately it wasnt and didnt, BUT with that said, it still has a few core games that are in some respects better than other options on the current console systems.

I dont think its £200 quid fun though, but thats the price hence the vote.

I say this having or having owned all of the console and stuck with my PC ( and my Wii) and i am definitely righter ( made that up ) than you because of my elite gamer attitude having a nice expensive Pc to shoot the minions with.

I am of course just joking.

Not really ZOMG I AM 1337 HAXOR, Its Over 9000 and all that stuff

Enjoy

Dead system? Pretty sure you're the delusional one...

I'd advise against buying a wiiu right now, with Nintendo announcing a new console this year these things will be sold at rock bottom prices. That and the fact there are very few games worth playing on it and nothing but cheap shovelware announced for this year*

*All the indications are that ZeldaU will likely be cross platform

Released in 2012 for £299.

Here we are 3 and a half years later and it's £100 off. Bit naff really.

On the plus side for current owners, it was clearly a good deal on release.

That's because it is a commercial failure and no one can deny it. Not even Nintendo.

Subjective. I wouldn't say this is a deal just because it's a Wii U under £200.

I'm expecting Zelda Wii U to be delayed yet again and if it happens, meh.. whatever. I have the Wii U version of Zelda pre-ordered anyway.

Come on, this system is dead in the water. There's a handful of games announced for this year Starfox (budget title looks like a gamecube game), Zelda HD (another port) ZeldaU (the definitive version will be on the NX) Mario & Sonic (Shovelware) and the most recent releases were content light over priced shovelware (amiibo party and Mario Tennis) and niche anime garbage (Xenoblade). The majority of retailers either don't stock the system or stock a handful of titles. The WiiU is an unmitigated disaster in terms of sales and it doesn't get any deader than that.

My advice would be to wait for the inevitable fire sale, I remember people were saying the same about the Gamecube and a few weeks later it was £99.99 and £79.99 a few months after that. It's adorable that there are still some loyal Nintendo fans in complete denial but the rest of us can clearly see the truth

The number one game I've played most on my Wii U and still do is Mario Kart 8. I've played most Wii U games but finished them and came back to MK8 because it's the game that has the highest replay value.

I expect it will be a similar scenario as to what happened with Twilight Princess which launched first one the Wii with Widescreen support then a month later the Gamecube version came out which was strictly 4:3. If I had to guess the WiiU will get a 1080p Zelda U a month before a 720p WiiU version so I'd wager the release of ZeldaU is linked (no pun intended :)) to the launch date of NX.

- Pokken Tournament *confirmed* (I'll definitely get it for the right price ~ around £30ish)
- Star Fox: Zero *confirmed* (have it pre-ordered from Base for £29)
- Shin Megami X Tensei ~ maybe it'll be released this year
- Zelda: Twilight Princess HD *confirmed* (pre-ordered and fully paid)
- Zelda Wii U ~ re-confirmed for a 2016 release but who knows (pre-ordered anyway)

It's very disappointing to only have like 5 Wii U games released in 2016 but it's what you get with Wii U.

NintendoLife lists more but eh: nintendolife.com/wii…oon

It's very likely to be a duo-gen game, I agree.

Exactly it's subjective... So let people decide whether they will get enough fun out of the product for the money they pay... instead of keep prattling on about a commercial failure blah blah blah

It is rare to find a (genuine) Wii U owner who will say the system isn't worth it. If you know what you are buying (a system with about a dozen excellent exclusives, all the Wii games too if you missed them and a few other worthwhile titles) you should not be disappointed. Having said that this seems quite pricey for the system (I paid £170 for the exact same bundle over 2 years ago now) and if you have a lot of gaming time you probably don't want to choose it as your primary system.

I have an Xbone, PS4 and 3DS. Rocket League on PS4 (and soon Xbone) is more fun than I've had with a Nintendo game in a decade. There was a time when Nintendo made games for adults like Conker, Metroid Prime, Perfect Dark, F-Zero, Blast Corps and Eternal Darkness now if you want to play games like you have to have either an Xbone or a PS4.

I love Nintendo games like Metroid, Starfox, Mario Kart and Zelda but the last Nintendo console I purchased was a Gamecube. The Wii was gimmick-box that didn't interest me and the WiiU gamepad felt like a cheap chinese knockoff of of a cheap Indonesian knockoff! The WiiU never had a compelling game to warrant me buying one... If there had been a Zelda or Metroid I'd have ignored the cheap build quality and terrible online infrastructure. The reality is that even Nintendo's star Franchises (with perhaps the exception of Mario Kart) are shadows of their former selves; Zelda is rapidly becoming shovelware city, Starfox is an afterthought and Metroid is dead. Sure, there are some people who are happy with all that but those people aren't enough to make the WiiU viable so something needs to change for the NX.

the wii u is a fantastic console... I'd argue it has more quality titles than the ps4 and xbone put together.

yes the library isn't massive but I have 30 ish games on it. all of which are fantastic.

quite possibly my favourite console ever.

£200 to access a small but high quality seems a more than fair price.

Nintendoland is just a tech-demo which unfortunately didn't even have online play support. So replay value's very limited.
