great price. As I missed out on the Amazon offer I'll prob be ordering this tonight or tomorrow.

I think £179.99 is probably the new RRP. Anything less would be mental.

won't beat the £149.99 i paid to amazon a few months ago

Also 3.03% TCB on the price excl. VAT.

I think if sales don't improve that retailers will consider a further price cut or two. Just my opinion...

This is a good price. If other retailers match this it will fly off the shelves!

For £20? barely get you an Indian takeaway for one these days X)

Any chance Amazon might match this again?

Tempted....VERY tempted.

Anyone know where I can get Mario 3D world for £30 online?

Darren.

Out if stock instore and online whwn u try and check out :-(

Utopiangames. £30 grainger games

This will go down further because no matter how much the Nintendo fanboys shout, Mario Kart and Super Smash Brothers will not save this sinking ship. I love Nintendo games and I will more than likely pick one of these up myself for pure fun however I have a PS3 and PS4. Not everyone wants or can afford multiple consoles and those people wont want to wait for long periods between games.

I've never heard of a console go up in price after release. PS4 will get cheaper too if want to wait.(_;)

When it goes around the £100 I think I'll get one til then I'm ok!

Sold my PS4 on a nice markup, hence sold more then the rrp, within the launch week, just a point against your point.

I suppose £180 may represent good value if you want to purchase a Wii U now, but if you're on the fence I would suggest waiting to see if there are any further price cuts because Nintendo recently slashed sales estimates from 9m to 2.8m, and if sales don't pick up, I fear they'll have no choice but to slash the price.

The Gamecube sold more at this stage and Nintendo cut the price of it to $99 less than two years after launch.

the GameCube was only £150 at launch though, this was a lot more, I think this might be the new RRP soon with bundles at around £200. for now though it's probably the best common price if you didn't get lucky with one of the pre Christmas £150 or £200 (with games) deals

My £180 premium with Splinter Cell and Rayman from Amazon arrived today. If Amazon match this, to get to the two games page, browse to any computer game so the Computer Games top nav bar is available. Select Wii U from it, and on the Wii U page there should be an ad banner for Special Offers in video games. Click on that, and the link is under the xbox pic on the right, under the console bundles heading.

A good friend of mine works at 365 games and after meeting with Nintendo earlier this week his advise was to wait even after I told him I could pick up a wii u for £179.99 so really itching to get one but should we hold out further?

"A games exec at a mass market outlet added: “£199 and Mario Kart 8. Simple.”"

lol, it's pretty much that price at the moment.

It needs to be 150 with mario kart and then it'll come off the shelves... maybe

I like the sound of £199 with Mario Kart 8 as long as it comes with two pro controllers as well.

Yeah xbite is the same company as 365 games.

Darren.

£199 for a MK8 bundle; really don't see what's so unbelievable about that! Take away the cost of MK8 plus you're getting Nintendo Land on top and it all works out about the same only you're getting 3-4 months more use out of it instead of it sitting on a shelf.

As long as it comes with £60 worth of controllers on top as well? haha. X)

I've got about 12 games for my Wii U since getting at Christmas, some fantastic deals out there on games. Getting loads of enjoyment out of it and I packed away my old WIi and can still play the games and use the accessories. Have even picked up some stonking bargains for the Wii since at a couple of quid a piece.

The controllers do not cost any where near that to produce. Unlike the tablet controller & the Wiimotes they can afford to bundle in the pro's

You could say that about anything, including the controllers made by other companies, but I don't see why Nintendo should be the only company expected to give'em away for free.

They would not be free. at £199 a console, 2x Pro Controllers and Mario Kart 8 (as it does not need the tablet) would have me buying one. You also do not need the tab for a whole host of other games.

What I would not be doing is buying a £199 console, with Tab & Mario Kart 8 then going out and paying £30+ per Pro Controller on-top, I might aswell buy the £179.99 pack now.

You need the tablet to control the OS, a lot of the apps and games already out have integral GamePad features. Not going to happen without causing more confusions and another minefield.

selling without the game pad will never happen, it's the USP of the who!e console and its useless without it. not sure why people would expect it to go from £240 with 1 game to £200 with a game that's worth more and extra hardware thrown in. if you're desperate for pads and don't want to spend £30 buy the £10 gameware ones instead

Watch this space.

Starting to think they'll have to sell these at cost..at the most - and recoup money with the game sales. Hardly unprecedented since MS/Sony often sell consoles at a loss.

Love that people think they can dictate what price Nintendo sells at, they've always done things how they want, external pressure hasn't made abit of difference in the past. Will be amazed if it works now.

Nintendo got lucky with the Wii but clearly not so much with the U. They've sold less than a third of their expected 9million units for the FY and are expecting losses of £145M.

news.sky.com/sto…pse

The best thing for Nintendo right now is to stop producing this console, clear down stock inventory and concentrate on games and accessories for the existing consumer base. Further down the road they need to be producing games for the PC, Xbox and Playstation....where there's a richer user base to target.

...just my opinion!
