Great twin stick shooter from Shin'en, worth every penny even at full price.
Online leaderboards and playable purely on the gamepad too.

Got 9/10 on IGN, review here

Game blurb:

Take control of a miniscule ship armed to the teeth with advanced weaponry, then traverse individual cells to wipe out any trace of the virus. Use the control sticks of the Wii U GamePad to move and shoot simultaneously – the Left Stick to manoeuvre your ship, the Right Stick to aim and fire. You can also use the Wii U GamePad touch screen to adjust the position of your ship’s satellites, altering the ferocity of your firepower in an instant.

The faster you wipe out the enemy cells, the more points you’ll score and the quicker you’ll be able to move onto the next stage. Watch out for heart-pounding races through bonus-filled tunnels along the way, as well as gigantic boss battles that'll take every ounce of skill to survive.

Play through a variety of game modes and pit your scores against the world with online leaderboards.

•Classic twin-stick shoot-'em-up excitement with a high-definition finish, spectacular neon visuals and a pounding techno soundtrack
•Blast your way through millions of enemies, then take on massive bosses in the quest to destroy the Nanostray virus
•Play alone or co-operatively with a friend, using both the TV and the Wii U GamePad screen to share the action

Is a bit like Super Stardust series on PS3 but much better. I really enjoyed playing this on the Wii U. Check out some videos on Youtube for a better idea of the gameplay.

Been this price before. I'm really disappointed with the pricing on e-shop so far, most games are way overpriced and sales are disappointing and still don't bring the prices down to their XBLA/PSN equivalents.

Even so I might give this a go as my store credit has been sitting there doing nothing for months(where are all the new e-shop releases?!?) so may aswell use it.

The 3DS one (Nano Assault EX) that also has the discount was originally a US only Retail game. But they added Circle Pad Pro support to the download version. It is also 30% off from Thursday.

Know what you mean, hopefully they will gather pace soon, seem to be a few on the horizon.

Cloudberry Kingdom and Harvest Moon both hit the Wii U eShop this Thursday too

Great shmup though. And a visual delight. I've definitely had my money's worth from this game.

This game is excellent. Two things you can guarantee from SHin'En's games - they look great and they're a challenge. This game is particularly impressive because early on developers only had access to one core and didn't have access to the DSP, meaning that single core had to handle audio too. Definitely worth picking up. The indie titles in the eShop have been very impressive so far.

Just to add that buying content from the Wii U eShop is ermmmmmm scary.

When I say scary I mean your purchases are tied to that Wii U. If it you need to transfer your purchases elsewhere you can't.

Let's just say your Wii U broke down - you have to send it and your new one to Nintendo so they can transfer them for you. That's the ONLY way you can ever get them off. I sold my Wii U and thought well I will deactivate/sign out of my account and then maybe transfer my £20 worth of games to a new Wii U in a few years if i buy a new one, just like a 360 or PS3. Turns out Nintendo lock it to the hardware...

Scary.

Not showing up as on sale on my wii u, still full price....anyone got this to work?
