Nice find op, very good price.

Was looking at this yesterday on shop to net they wanted 240
Heat added great find

Must be local only. Asda.com doesn't sell any wii u

Seems like they have reduced these nationally. Was reduced to £199 in Gravesend ASDA.

Just bagged one, with one left on the shelf at Team Valley

brilliant price, especially being the premium one.

Very good price. Got a reservation for it with Mario world for £229 at argos.

Oh thanks for heads up. I'll look into that.

Don't listen I have a wii u and an xbox one and I'm on my wii u all the time I wouldn't think twice of getting one u won't regret it

They realise it's underpowered and a pain to program. Also charging the pad all the time is annoying. You have to pay £25 extra just to get a bigger battery that only last a couple of hours longer. Nintendo announcing new console next year.

Some truth and some cobblers. Yep, deffo very little third party support and is avoided as a development platform. Has some awesome first party games though and a high power battery can be brought for £16 inc delivery from Amazon france:

amazon.fr/gp/…1_1?qid=1427049951&sr=8-1&keywords=wii+u+battery&dpPl=1&dpID=41aJQmT3eYL&ref=plSrchπ=SY200_QL40

Worth getting 100%. So far the XB1 and PS4 just has the usual shovelware and HD remasters.

Glad i didnt buy a wii u

Gonna wait until the reveal of there next console

Their next console might not be a home video console, it could be portable, like a DS.

This is the problem with Nintendo fanboys thinking Nintendo consoles don't need third party support and then no wonder Wii U only sold 9 million units so far. And that people think the Wii U's an add-on to the Wii plus the GamePad plays game cards like the 3DS.

Thankfully Nintendo growing out of this bad habit with their smartphone and next home console because if the Wii U serves as anything is that they shouldn't make the same mistake again.

Agreed, the 1st party games are awesome, but after a few months of playing them there is little else. Having little third party support really hurts the Wii U and will not likely to improve. If you like 'mature' games you haven't much to look forward to at all as the developers left Nintendo as soon as they realised it had a weak processor and no hard drive. Even in Japan the 3DS has out sold it by far.

Remember the Xbone and PS4 have only just started and have got another 8 years left in them. The Wii U maybe a couple of years left.. Maybe

Actually you are wrong.. I'm 46 and have played on Ninty stuff since the Snes days.

I do like Nintendo but feel they need to bring more variety to their consoles in this generation. How many more Mario or Zelda games do we need?

If they brought a powerful console out with tons of third party support look how good that would be? You could have all the best Nintendo games and third party games too.

At the moment they are stuck in the dark ages and don't try to improve the situation.

The console was weak, no dvd/blu ray, no BBCi/itv player, no online game chat, gimmicky costly controller with no hard drive.

To me all they have done is kept the Nintendo popular games going which isn't enough.

They do however seem to be looking at mobile phones games as a rescue plan.

"To me all they have done is kept the Nintendo popular games going which isn't enough."

It is though lol it just needs to be marketed properly,

remember nintendo are massive in japan!

(edit : "The console was weak, no dvd/blu ray, no BBCi/itv player, no online game chat, gimmicky costly controller with no hard drive.")

The Wii U is 100% dead but you know what? I brought one anyway at Christmas. Simply because of the unique games on offer (i.e not CoD 267 or Fifa 2019 or Pacman HD remastered).

Wii U will be finished after Zelda U, a year left max.

I love how I can play the Wii U just on the gamepad and also Nintendo games hold there value - buy new at £30, sell for... the same or more.

I only play mature games for mature gamers such as myself.

Why are you so afraid of having fun at the expensive of looking like a "kid"?
Also tell me Bayonetta 2 (one of the best games on the system) was a kiddie game.

I have a Wii U and a PS4. I love both. There are some great games for the Wii U. I bought it to play Nintendo games primarily. I love Mario, Zelda etc. Always have done and have played these franchises for years.
However, Decoded is right with a lot of what he has said. Nintendo are so far behind the competition it's almost laughable. Playing online games on the Wii U is just a headache. And when I play Mario Kart online with my brother we can only chat in the lobby! That is insane and totally kills the vibe of the online playing experience.
Also, the console is very basic really and is considerably under-powered compared to it's competition. They have also been churning out the same franchises for years now. Don't get me wrong, they have some great ones! But come on now. How about something new.

But it is still well worth having. Maybe not if you are a hardcore gamer and can only afford to buy one system right now. But if you already have a PS4 or XBone and you fancy something a little different then go for it. If you like Nintendo games then it's a no brainer.

And this is a great price! Heat added.

Oh, and....... Zelda U is going to be amazing.
