For those in the market for a Wii U - I just purchased the premium edition with Mario Kart in store at Sainsbury's for £209.99. Having been browsing extensively over the past fortnight, I think this is easily the best deal on the market right now. What's even better is that I also cashed in my Nectar points and got a further £60 off, so if you're a Nectar collector and have some points to burn then it's even more of a great deal.

On a side note, my local store didn't actually have this deal displayed on the shelf for some reason, they only had a basic Wii U with Smash Bros. I was tipped off about this deal for £209.99 so I knew it existed, I just simply asked at the counter and they had a few units in the back. Happy days.

If E3's presentation hasn't killed Wii U I'll be amazed! Their E3 was pathetic, they seriously need to either bring out a console to compete or start developing games for other consoles, the Wii U has literally a year or 2 left!

I haven't voted either way on this even though imo its a bad deal!

protip: buy consoles for the games that are there/in the very near future.WiiU has some amazing games out, and you can always resell.

Yeah, like the new Xenoblade Chronicles & Zelda game.

Amazing how sad the story of WII U has gotten despite it having by some margin the best games and most entertainment value. In a world where marketing is king, Wii U has none

Wii U has quality games - not some over-hyped shooter thats (usually) a total let down, or you cant be arsed picking up again in 3 months time - you just dont get that with Wii U.

Most played console in my house by far

Deal is pretty average though :-/ isnt this RRP?

Agreed e3 was so bad didn't give me much hope , but I've played so many great games on the wii u ,nobody likes the wii cus it's uncool but I think it's worth the money even if it has only a year left

It is a shame Wii U hasn't been marketed to the extent it should have been. Up until 6 months ago I barely knew anything about it in terms of what it does and the games available for it. However I consider myself to be a casual gamer and Wii U is far more suitable for me in terms of price and the games available. They have some great first party titles and I much prefer a good Mario game over the more powerful, realistic and cinematic type games available on the big 2 consoles. As long as Nintendo keep churning out their brilliant first party stable of games, I'll keep buying their consoles.

It's not RRP mate, the Mario Kart bundle is in the region of £229-£250 most places, I know it has probably been £209 before but not at this moment in time, hence this deal being good IMO as others retailers don't seem to be matching it. Besides, consoles and games are not for sale online at Sainsbury's so I thought I'd bring this deal to attention given there doesn't seem to be any marketing for it on the web, you actually have to see it in store. Plus the fact you can use Nectar points is a bonus for anyone who collects them as well.

I might have got this wrong (it was a while ago) but when that 'Register one game, get a digital game for free' promotion happened (I went with Pikmin 3) wasn't this bundle £199.99 then?

-115 with good reason. Amazon sell this around this price regularly and you can get a flubit. Would never pay more than £200 for this myself, for the reason alone of it having been out for ages now.

WIIU has great fun games, not like all these dull, dark, morbid games the other consoles churn out
