Have a soft spot for the princess do ya?

I've got these both and they're really good. The blues on the back are slightly different on each to match each characters trousers and also the wrist strap is the same matching blue. The rubber covers included are red and green to colour match also, these could easily have been supplied generic and clear which is a nice touch.

Thinking whether to buy 2 of these to use with the Wii U and replace the original white ones (from the Wii which I still have in the girls room) that I use with the Wii U at the moment? I have to plug and unplug the motion+ adapters when the kids are playing Nintendoland which becomes abit tiresome...

Slighty more expensive, at £29.27 from nippon-yasan.com -- courtesy of HUKD user samfielding

Yoshi
Peach

Be wary though, the least expensive shipping (around £3) has no tracking or insurance, and the shipping will take 2-3 weeks.

So the cheapest postage is £3 but not secure? I'm pretty sure they will be pulled by customs. No offence but I can't imagine why anybody would order them when they are £38 at base.

People who like to save? I just checked and they were actually £39 at base, and since I live outside the UK, I'd have to pay an additional £3 for the postage. I'd rather take the risk and save £9

From your own admission you said insecure postage is £3 so that's up to £32. You posted that in a UK forum so its irrelevant where you are from. Customs will no doubt pick up on a package of this size so with that said I'm sure if people ordered from there they wouldn't be paying the £3 for unsecured delivery they would pay the postage that leads to them getting the controller. How much is that by the way as you have failed to mention it?

The cheapest tracked delivery to UK is £7.55 looking at the shipping calculator.

Do tell me, what's the difference between tracked and untracked delivery when it comes to UK customs?

I think these are great, but can't bring myself to pay so much extra just for some fancy colours. I do love Yoshi though.

Anyone comment on whats the differences between this and the original white one I have with + attachment ?

just ordered mine thank you

They reduce it further when u thought u had bought it cheap last week.....still hot ..

I had someone say a similar thing on my deal about how it was 17.95 on this site. Also forgot to mention delivery is untracked and not insured for lost packages lol

Don't see how it's a great deal when theres so many problems you might encounter.

The functionality is the same as an original Wiimote with a MotionPlus accessory attached. However, the size is the same as the original Wiimote on its own.
If you can afford one, they're well worth getting, as they're much nicer to hold. And, of course, you can factor in the colours, style and collectability.

Don't forget the new sync button being on the outside rather than in the battery compartments. Small detail but a gods end!!

When an item is sent, the person sending the parcel needs to fill in a declaration stating the item description, its value and whether if it's a gift.

When it passes through UK customs they would check this documentation to see whether if the item is:

Over £15 and not a gift
Over £36 and a gift (neither sender or recipient could be a business).

If the item satisfies either of the above then vat is automatically charged. The carrier may also charge an admin fee to collect the amount too!

However, these foreign online retailers would normally declare an item's value as being below £15 and possibly describing the item as being something else. The majority of smaller items both in size and weight would normally pass through customs unchecked, but they do randomly check a portion of these to prevent everyone abusing the system. If it is found that the item has been under declared then they would revise the valuation and charge the correct vat (or possibly seize the goods if it's a gross and deliberate under declaration).

The problem with sending by insured/tracked delivery is that the sender would need to declare the actual value because if the item is lost then that would be the compensated amount. It would be pretty useless to insure a £30 item as £15! There would be no escaping the import vat unless of course the item is worth less than £15 but then it would not be cost effective to pay a premium to insure a £15 item.

Personally if it was me, I would just go ahead and purchase the item using normal airmail. As long as the seller is reputable, I would rather take the risk with the item being lost in the post so that I could save the import vat. Note the potential import vat would be calculated as 20% on the combined cost of the item and postage, so if you track it then the vat due would be even more!

Thanks a lot, great detailed explanation of how the UK customs work

My reason for rather taking the risk is exactly the same, to save the import vat, 'cause it's stupid. I didn't know UK residents had the same problem as us here in Norway with the import vat, but I guess our limits before vat is automatically charged are a bit different:

Over £20 and not a gift
Over £100 and a gift

but still, it's really hard to get online retailers, especially those who ship games internationally (or at least to Europe), to send it as a gift and put the value as lower than the import vat limit.

Again, thanks for the elaborate reply
