Invited to Princess Peach's castle, Mario discovers that she has once again been kidnapped by Bowser and his minions. However, something has changed... This time the adventure is in 3D!

2870960.jpg
Leaping through pictures hanging from the walls, Mario searches for 120 Power Stars stashed away in vast, magical worlds teeming with daunting obstacle courses, hidden items, puzzles and an army of enemies! Mario has a huge repertoire of moves, including running, jumping, swimming, stomping and punching, and performing a backward somersault that can help him reach even the highest platforms. Special caps give him short-lived powers, including the ability to fly - and if troublemakers swipe Mario's cap, he'll have to grab it back!

Mario runs freely in a grassy meadow, tiptoes through a gloomy dungeon, climbs to the top of a snow-covered mountain, hot-foots it over lava lakes and swims in the castle moat. He can explore an ancient pyramid and even race Koopas for fabulous prizes. And, of course, he must fight his arch-nemesis Bowser, King of the Koopas - not once, but three times!

Graphics aside (as a Nintendo fan I don't care for the best graphics), the quality of this game was and still is amazing. You actually felt you was achieving something when you collected the stars in Mario 64. Collecting moon's in Odyssey is like collecting coins in comparison. If you compare how you felt playing Mario 64 to how you feel playing Odyssey I'm certain it's not even close.. Just my opinion obviously.

Same, my all time favourite game. Odyssey has had some great moments so far but I've only got to Luncheon kingdom and haven't played for weeks. I remember getting Mario 64 in summer 97 (God I feel old) and playing it non stop for the whole summer, regularly replaying favourite stars and beating bowser for the end credits - I can still hum the tune. It was and is a complete masterpiece and I still play to this day.

Wait a minute, you can play this on the wii u? Theres me trying to find stable 64 emulators to replay this as the Wii U M3D land, bros 2 and similar lack the star searching i used to love doing in this.

I can see what you mean, it beats Mario 3D world and Bros 2 but not too sure if it beats oddyssey. I and the kid love the ability to possess the enemies and the whole new donk city festival is ace.

However, the longevity, gameplay and star search is vastly superior in M64 then the others.

Nintendo know what they're doing. If they brought this out for both consoles everyone will choose the Switch. This way they sell a load of digital games on a now dead system, then sell them all over again when they finally bring out virtual console on the Switch. We all know Nintendo will not allow us to transfer anything across.
Squeezing a few more bucks out before they announce a N64Mini and charge us all again

It's meee, Maario.
How's the graphics and frame rates? Or is it a direct n64 port?
Anyone got comments on Mario galaxy? Never got around to playing it
Best game ever, magical even. Loved replaying & getting them 120 stars. The tunes were brillaint!
What was that Diddy Kong Racing game around the time of this game that was influenced by this game. Looked quite similar. They kind of morphed the 2 games, the Diddy Kong Racing had challenges and bosses.

Strange. It's a new account I had to setup back when the 2DS XL was released as I left my old account on the 3DS I got rid off. I've had no purchases or anything to suggest I'd receive a lower price.

It's part of the New Year Sale, is it not showing a reduction on the actual console eShop, either?
